I wouldn't say no to an SD-50 if I saw one at the right price................ I'll probably be selling my Guild Jumbo at some point and when I do I'll start seriously looking for an SD-50 or possibly a regular D-50.
The only dread I have is my 93 Gibson Gospel which I won't sell;  too many memories.

I guess for some of us.. "Only a gibson isn't good enough." eh? lol :whistling:

my wife tells me all the time..

when I bought my first 'good' guitar J45.. She looked at the box it came in.. which says "Only a gibson is good enough".
and said, "So.. after this no more guitars right??" and I said "yes! only a gibson is good enough!!"..

but clearly.. man can't have only one guitar...
Jeffrey

Shall we be assuming that you have jumped on board then?

The Forum 3's are strung with EXP lights.
1991 Larrivee lefty C19        Forum 3 #68A LS03 IS/RW HB lefty
Form 3 #52  LS03 all mahogany lefty
Yamaha FG450                    1993 Les Paul Standard lefty
Yamaha FG335                    2012 American Standard Stratocaster
Fender Classical (1974?)      2011 RS-2 w/P-90's
Takamine 12 string

Dragon1952- I think as far as all that ordered are concerned, & Larrivee, the run is done & more would be no fun. Some squeezed in @ the end after the orders were closed. Not to be a party-pooper, but I think all that ordered by the deadline are those that got in. No more of these special guitars should be made. It's like jumping on the boat after the fish really start biting. Now that reviews of F-III's are coming in, many are kicking themselves in the -CENSORED- for not getting in. Apparently, if you check the new threads, there is an IS/HOG up for sale due to the economy & who knows what else might happen. Don't mean to sound spiteful or mean, but if you didn't go for it @ first you're probably out of luck. Not to say that Larrivee might now decide to offer an LS-03; I doubt it & they wouldn't have the same quality wood. Sorry. I think most feel the same as I do (that ordered). Danny, Lynn, Ben, Ricky, etc.? Check with Jim also & see if any others are backing out.

The Martin UMGF forum guitar was available by order for a long time and might still be.  You could order it from any Martin dealer.  It was not a one-time deal.  I think that the FIII is a one-shot deal, but I would have no problems if Larrivee offered it on special order through Jim @ Trinity or any other quaility dealer.

Spread the good news, why not?
Play it daily for best results.

I've been looking for "THE GUITAR" for a long time and I hope my up coming all Hog F3 will be the one.  It is difficult to find that special guitar that sings to your soul. If this guitar turns out to be the "ONE" for many of us, I hope Larrivee makes it available to anyone who wants it.

I didn't order this guitar because it was the Forum 3 guitar, I ordered because the people here know what they are talking about and what they wanted in a guitar, which doesn't seem to be the typical guitar available to the masses. It was, and it is, what I want also. I want a smallish guitar with a warm big sound that feels and sounds alive when you play it.  I hope this is the one............ I really can't wait to get my hands on her  :winkin:

Hello all, happy to say I am one of the fortunate ones to secure one of the surplus FIII's and I am delighted.  Not concerned about the numbering or lack of numbering, but very stoked about getting an awesome guitar.  Looking forward to picking it up at Larrivee, I live in the Vancouver area, of course after all the original 78 receive theirs. Got an IS MH, they all look beautiful from the pictures.  I have L 03R, and I believe this will not only have a different feel but a complementary sound to the L 03R.  I feel very fortunate to be able to get one, thank you to Jim and all those originally in the project to make it happen.  Hope to report nothing but bliss once I get it.

I think you misunderstood. There are "extra" guitars....10 of them.....hence the name of this topic? (More Forum III Guitars Available)    :whistling:
I was just wondering why the "extra" 10 couldn't have had some kind of secondary numbering system. BTW, there's already one of the "extra"  IS/MH with my name on it.......and possibly even a 'numbered' one if things go right  :winkin:

BREAKING NEWS!

Just emailed Jim Holler and he provided the following updated list. Apparently, there were a few more than the original 10 made that were quoted in the first list. So this is the current updated list of Forum IIIs that are available:

LS03MT            2
LS03MT HB      1  but on hold
LS03                 3
LS03RHB          2

As usual, please contact Jim for further information or to place your order. Also, I should note that a deposit is required to reserve your guitar just like in the big round of Forum IIIs.

Misunderstood the name of the topic. Sounded like "maybe make 10 more" to me (the tone). I never heard in all of the posts from day one of this project that 10 more were being built, & now apparently more. Thought it was a limited run, thus the pressure to get your orders in by 1/2/09. If there was no rush, why the cutoff date? I have no regrets, just thought it was limited by time. Why else would people comment about "2 more squeezing in @ the last moment"? Not my words. Others posted comments about that. My feeling is those that got in @ the deadline, got in. That was how it all sounded. A "custom run with 3 wood options". Obviously, the fewer, the more unique & more attention to detail, as has been mentioned by those who received theirs. That's just MHOP. Obviously other's feel different. Would you rather have a "limited custom run guitar" or one with an open end? I see your point that it might make no difference, but I think that's mainly those that didn't order. So many are jumping on the order that can't keep his because of this sucky economy (posted yesterday).
Why would Danny want #1 & Ricky the last if it wasn't a closed run? Still baffles me. Don't mean to take something away from someone, especially something this special. As I said, they might bring back an LS-03, but w/o the I/S. Would become part of their standard offerings. Why they stopped the "J" series, I'll never know. Had a '94 J-09 & it was an awesome sounding instrument. Got GAS & parted ways. Mistake. LOL!   :thumb

So it seems I have come to doubt, all that I once held as true

Its very common to have some extra parts/components left over after a limited production run.  This tends to happen when a few of the products had to get redone/restarted due to very high quality standards.  It sounds like they ran a few extra in case issues arose.  I don't have an issue with them being sold off to people on this Forum especially after we have tortured the people who didn't order one with all of our pictures and gushing posts.   :bgrin: :bgrin: :bgrin: :bgrin:

I'm actually happy that a few lucky people got a nice surprise opportunity to buy one of these guitars.  I think its better that Larrivee has offered these extra guitars to Forum members vs. selling them off to dealers.  I certainly wouldn't support having the extras chopped into firewood.  That would be awful...

Peace.

Jordan.

LS-03MTHB Forum III (#19), RS-2 Sunburst

And the so called "extras" won't be individually numbered, so it still maintains the integrity of the original intent (to a high degree anyway). As has been stated, the "extra" were started in case there were problems with any of the original 78 that might have developed during production, so it's not 'open-ended'. Not sure how often stuff happens during a build where they have to scrap a guitar, but maybe they also anticipated a few more people wanting one also. Personally, I was new to the forum and didn't even know about this until after the deadline had passed. Not sure how I would have felt about extras if I had got in on the original order, but I was fortunate to just pick up Richard's #76, so I guess I do have an opinion now........and I say "scrap 'em all!"   No just kidding  :humour: .....  :whistling: ......as long as they don't go over 100 in count anyway  :winkin:

Jordon & dragon, I stand corrected & agree with your opinions. As long as the "xtras" go to Forum members, that's cool. Like you said dragon, as long as they don't go over 100.... & they won't be #'d anyway!  :thumb

More will be made, we are the "Advertisement" for them. They will show up at "12th Fret" and other dealers as limited runs. They will just be called something other than F-III
