Thanks John for the update and wonderful photos.

I like the *Magnificent Seven*, good call.

All right, which one of you Magnificent Seven will be traveling through East Tennessee this year?!

These look so incredible. I'm eager for you all!

We'll be at the ROMP music festival in Kentucky in June, though I usually don't travel with my better guitars. I might be persuaded for a fellow forum member.  :cheers

Well, I like the handle, but there is lurking in the shadows an unofficial 8th, of sorts, as our Forum build captain Mike has his own Redwood build coming that more closely resembles the original spec for the Forum VII. While not a Forum guitar, it's going to be a very special guitar.

These look great. I'd love to see the Walnut B/S as well.

If I'm not mistaken, Mike's guitar was determined to be a Forum VI 1/2.

As would I.

Yep, I recall that now, but it was born on the wings of the 7th. Neither here nor there, and it's definitely not a Forum VII, but it feels like it's in the family.

Yes, you are right. It *is* in the family. Shout out to Mike for spearheading this magnificent project.

I was having a laugh, but that's kind of you to offer! I just hope all of you are over the moon with these beautiful guitars.

I've never been to the ROMP festival, but I see it's in Owensboro. My sister and brother-in-law used to live there. The last time I visited them, that terrible ice storm had just come through (maybe fifteen years ago, or so). That was a crazy experience.

We were invited to attend ROMP with some wonderful new friends we met camping at a different music festival a couple years ago. When I checked out the lineup, it was an easy decision. Music sure can be a great common denominator for making new friends.

OK, I am confused (not unusual).

I've noticed a discrepancy in the recent updates.

The initial run was comprised of five mahogany models (numbered 1-5) and two walnut models (numbered 6-7).

The latest photo group only shows four mahogany guitars, with number 3 conspicuously absent.

John's update on the future timeline mentioned only the two walnut guitars and "Mike's guitar".

The Theory:

Could Mahogany Guitar #3 actually be Mike's guitar?

If so, this would confirm it as a Forum 7 model (despite the slightly different configuration Mike requested), and account for the missing #3 in the photos while also explaining why John mentioned it separately from the main group.

The wait time is certainly breeding some interesting speculation! Thoughts?

I just read that and it hurt my brain.  :humour:

No discrepancy... #3 went quiet somewhere in the neck fit or C&C stage.
Rarely, a flaw in the neck reveals itself during C&C, this is after a LOT of work has been done on the neck, and after it has been prefit to the body. A new neck must be made for that body, resulting in a big delay. Something like that happened to Tom's F-VI, and his guitar shipped nearly 2 months late.

Or maybe some small tear out problems during routing for binding, with no structural damage, but requiring a minor repair.
Anyhow, mine is a plain 000-01, except for the redwood top. I don't know what the serial number is, except to guess it might be #8.

Thanks for remembering Mike, your guitar will be a great addition to your stable.

One of the challenges I faced was reading about others getting their Forum guitar delivered while watching and waiting for mine to be finished. I never shared this but my guitar was actually shipped while I was in Florida so I had to wait another three weeks on top of the delay to play it. I had it delivered to my son's office and he opened the box at my request and played it for me until I got home. It was well worth the wait and I had my parlor to keep me company so it was not really a problem; just a minor inconvenience.

The silver lining in that cloud was having John Jr. tell me that they wouldn't ship my guitar until they were sure it was 100% right. That philosophy reinforced what I already knew about this company and I'm confident that the Forum VII buyers will feel the same way once they get their guitars.

Absolutely! When I hear that a company is delaying something for quality control concerns, its' a bit of a relief. Especially these days when the method is to get something out the door and move on. It says to me that Larrivee would rather spend more time and money to do right by one of their customers.

I have to say, I am extremely proud to be a part of this build. Best guitar company in the world!!

Thanks Mike for the explanation of the missing number 3. Had me going.... :arrow

I'm not saying this is what happened, just trying to explain why something might not be where we expect.
Only John could tell us for sure.

This picture of a new Huss & Dalton is linked to the Guitar Tex site. It is a OOO-SP with redwood top and sinker mahogany B&S. I talked to Mark and it arrived today. The price isn't nailed down but it will be well over eight grand...
So I think we are in great company here. Our guitars will look just as good and cost less than 1/3 the Huss.

Huss also has a redwood/claro walnut OM going to another dealer. Not as good looking.
