Of course I wish Larrivee made an acoustic bass.  Ya think they would if I asked nicely?

I've looked at the Martin basses, but haven't actually played one - I'm hoping to while on vacation in about 2 weeks.  But I'm just window shopping right now.  It will actually serve two purposes:  my husband wants one to learn on it and I want to use it (with a pick up) in the praise & worship band.

So does anyone have any suggestions on a great acoustic bass that is easy to play with a great tone and a body that is not extremely large?  I'd love to hear ya'lls opinions! (jeez, my Tallahassee accent is coming out in my message board postings, great - just great.)

Thanks in advance!

Larrivee does (or at least did) make accoustic basses. They are available at reasonable prices, based on what I've seen.

The Larrivee bass was based upon the LJ body and I think was an -02 series. B-02, I believe. Some dealers still have them listed, but it sounds like unclrob has a line on one for you.

Mary,

Love that Tallahassee accent!

My bass player is always drooling over my Larrivees, I know he wishes he had a Larrivee acoustic bass.  It's like he just realized how wonderful these things are, especially when I play my parlor.  He just looks at that guitar in amazement.  (Can't believe how loud it is.)

Anyway go talk to Rob over to Andy's Guitars, I think they are on Monroe St.

Ya'll have a nice one! ;)

Its too highly priced. Its also in Europe so seller has incorrectly listed the location. the seller doesn't state a shipping rate.
