Rick Ruskin (www.liondogmusic.com/) is one of the founders of modern American fingerstyle guitar. He was a live-in student of Reverend Gary Davis, and has been recording since the early 70s. His playing is an inspiring combination of funky rhythm and smooth melody. He plays a broad spectrum of pop, folk, blues, and originals and has plenty of entertaining stories between tunes.

We're excited to be hosting this show at our home on Saturday, 4/23, with the music starting at 8 PM and doors open at 7. I'll be serving both sweet and savory treats. Our only Larrivee is a faithful parlor, but we generally do some guitar fondling before and after the show, if you're interested in figured walnut or Madagascar rosewood. A $20 donation is requested.

Thanks,

I've asked Rick if he'd like to add a workshop segment to this show and he's up for it. Rick has shown me some nifty ways to improve my fingerstyle arrangements, so if you'd like to get some tips please bring your guitar and hang around after the show for a workshop and a little jamming.

Thanks Fran!
Wish I was back in the hills of Santa Cruz (lived in Ben Lomond '80-81), I would stop by!
