Hello, I just placed an order for a 1997 Larrivee C-05-12, and she should arrive in about a week.
Just curious if any have experience with this model and what I can expect?  Not a lot of information on line and no videos or sound samples...that I could find.
I have a 1981 Larrivee L-19 that I love💖👍

We would be delighted if you could share the serial number and photos of this guitar. Pretty sure you have both.

Larrivee makes a nice 12 string. They maintain clarity when you tune down (which is something I recommend doing with 12 string guitars).
When it arrives, be sure to scrutinize the action and check the bridge to make sure it's healthy. They are more susceptible to warping.

Welcome to the 12 string Larrivee Club. This guitar will give you years of enjoyment and open up new dimensions in your playing. Share your impressions about how it sounds for fingerpicking and strumming and which you prefer.

Well done you for scoring that 12'er,looks the part, and that  Florentine cutaway is just peachy,I've never played a Larrivee 12- string,as they are a rarity, especially around my way,if you look up Dan Grigor on YouTube, you should find his uploads of him playing a Larrivee 12'er, though I'm not sure of the model,it sure sounds the business.

Thanks Gill,
Tell me about how rare 12's are...I had been looking for a L-45 almost since I bought my L-19 in 2018.  I wanted something from the Victoria or Vancouver era.  I found a 1991 L-45 on a Japanese retailer a few weeks back, had it in my cart to purchase, had some issues with PayPal and it was sold "out from under me"!  I was some angry! :crying:  However, the guitar gods must not have wanted me to have the L-45, a Spruce over Rosewood, as I already have a 1970 Martin D12-35, Spruce over Rosewood, as this beauty showed up in my Reverb "watchlist" a few days later.  I guess I really needed a Hog 12 string!!

An interesting sidebar: The seller noted "This is a gorgeous 12 string acoustic that we recently took in from none other than Fareed Haque (Garaj Mahal)."  I had not heard of him before and I could not find any video of Fareed playing the Larrivee, however he has some serious "chops!

Interesting that you have the '70 Martin D-35 12'er - is it the 12-fret model? I had a '67 Martin D-35 12-'er up until I swopped it for a Larry C-10 BR, the Martin was BR also, best 12'er I ever owned,I was a staunch Guild fan for years, but the Martin was the easiest 12'er I ever played, hope you enjoy your Larrivee!

Yes, the 70 D12-35 is a 12 FTB, slotted HS model. She has that classic 70's sound...one of my most prized.  I will never part with her!
