My back and sides are pretty nice. Especially the sides, they shimmer. The attached picture of the side is in very low light. These guitars are so nice. I just dialed in my saddle and the action is now perfect. I'm actually going to be brave and take it to Friday's gig.

ALL the photos of these Forum VII's & Mike's look great.

Amen to that! We have yet to see 2 of them, if I'm not mistaken, but surely, they are just as beautiful! Each seems unique in its own way, yet all part of a family. So glad I snagged one! I'm still playing my Forum VI quite a bit, but my poor OM-40 is feeling a bit neglected lately. All are wonderfully and individually voiced.

teh asked
Out of curiosity, did anyone order a 00 from this elite group? If so, I'd be curious to hear your impressions.

Yes, I got one with khaya back and sides. In fact, I just picked it up from the shop this morning -- basic setup because I like my action lower than it was.

I said before that this is a beautiful guitar,F7&F3.jpg and now I can say that it plays great as well. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.  The OO size is perfect for me, so comfortable, and it plays like butter. Very nice voice. It is giving my Forum III a run for its money, and I never thought I would ever say that.

I feel fortunate and grateful for this guitar, many thanks to Mike and Larrivee for making it all possible. I love this guitar.

Laos,

You have two really nice guitars there and the top on the 00 is a showstopper. I'm glad to see you left the pick guard off. I've been playing my mahogany topped 00 for almost 17 months now. It only gets better with age and I'm using light gauge Martin Monel Retros on mine.

One other suggestion to Forum VII owners and Mike. The next time Larrivee announces a Pro Shop sale, take advantage of the discount and  order yourself a set of ebony or tortoise bridge pins with abalone dots. I put a set of the ebony pins on my 00-24 to complement the headstock inlay and a set of the tortoise pins on my FVI.

I too ordered a OO, but with the Walnut back and sides, but am still waiting on delivery. Pictures will be posted upon arrival.

Out of curiosity, did anyone get a signed label in their guitar? I wonder if it would be possible for Larrivee to send some out at a future date?  I'd be happy to put a signed label over the existing label.

Not signed and not a 'custom label' as I thought it would be.  I thought we'd get a label similar to the 'FVI' special label that was signed.  Beginning to think it was a bit rushed at the end.

So, decided I'd do a quick recording.  Factory strings feel a bit 'off' for me and will need to change or just get used to these for a while.  Also, not quite used to the harmonics yet.  However, since a couple of you have asked for a recording, here's a short version of my tune 'Cumberland Toad'.  No editing, one take, warts and all.

Well, it appears mp3 files can't be uploaded here.  I'll get it posted to YT and provide the link when available.   Quick video done.  Here's the link...

Nice job! I sure do love mine! Still getting used to it, in a good way, that's for sure! They are quite powerful guitars.

Thanks for sharing! Such richness and sustain. The low notes have a lot of throat to them. Lovely playing as well.

Hello Folks!

I've got some exciting updates and a slight change of plans to share. I'm currently down in Oxnard and was able to get everything done we wanted to do—especially since the Forums were completed and shipped earlier than expected! This afternoon, we put together special packages for each of you and sent them out via FedEx. (Jazzereh, yours is heading your way via government post to Canada, and Jkwokbee, I'll hand-deliver yours—complete with the guitar—when I see you next week. JasonChamb, your guitar was picked up today and is already on its way!)

Keep an eye out for a fun little surprise in your packages, along with a couple of extra goodies and the flash drive we originally promised. The drive is formatted ExFAT, so it should work seamlessly on both Mac and Windows computers—no compatibility worries!

Thanks so much for being part of this journey—it's been a blast! Big thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and to Mike for keeping everything running smoothly. And of course, a shoutout to my brother and the whole Larrivée team for crafting another fantastic FORUM model.

Regards
- john jr.

Wow. It just gets better and better! Though I couldn't be part of this, I'm getting great joy in seeing all the updates, photos, and the communication from John Jr. Thanks to everyone who has kept us updated on their guitars and has shared pics, songs, etc. These updates bring a smile to my face every time.

It's this sort of experience that makes me so proud to be a Larrivee owner. What an amazing company and family!!!

Thanks John! It's hard to exaggerate the antsiness of seeing and hearing all the FVIIs without getting my hands on mine. Glad to hear it's on its way. I'll be looking forward to it. I know everyone here appreciates your willingness to work on a project like this, as well as your communication and customer service. It's been a very satisfying experience.
