well, it was a bit of a fluke, but I'm happy about it.

I now have this newer but classy vintage vibe "Ambertone" 000 in my collection.

really a sweet guitar, scolloped braces, dovetail join and a limited run (125 made) of black walnut Bck & sides.

The only change I'm going to make to it, is, swapping out the sealed Martin tuners fr a set of Grover open back butter bean tunes to complete the "vintage" look.

One of the nicest shaded finishes I've seen.

That's a great find and both the burst and back are nice.  Please share your thoughts after you've had a few weeks to settle in with this guitar and your impression about walnut.

That's beautiful. And the short scale should make it fun to play also. Enjoy!

I've had Walnut as a tone wood before, paired with Cedar.

It has some of the warmth of Mahogany, with some of the immediacy/ attack transience of rosewood.

Typically, its difficult to judge when one is playing the guitar as opposed to listening while some one else does that job.
The smaller see (compared to my OM guitars, means less air, so less resonance, but it's a very nice playing and sounding guitar.

The bindings are cheap looking, the finish was matt, satin, which I buffed out to a semi gloss (for now).

Black Walnut is a lovely wood, why Martin chose a finish to hide the woods' grain and natural beauty is beyond me.

apologies for not realizing there was a Forum guitar built with Moonwood & Walnut.

I'm sure its a much better instrument than what I've pictured here.
