I spoke to John and paid my balance on 2/14. I have heard nothing since other than the fact it hasn't shipped yet.

The good news is, I retire tomorrow and I wanted to take my FVI on vacation but I'll take my LV03 12 string instead.

Enjoy vacation!  Have the neighbors watch out for your box too.  I was pretty sure you hadn't received yours yet.  It seems like the 3 extras shipped already though

Well I am out of town for work for a couple of weeks, so of course, my guitar was delivered today.  So glad my father in law was at the house to sign for it.  I will post pics as soon as I get home.  This is going to be a long work trip

Great, good news! Finally! Although delayed, we can at least be happy you and Tom's guitars will be in the hands of trusted family until you both return from your work trip and vacation. I wish we could come up with some sort of prize for you and Tom's patience.

My son took delivery of my Forum VI Tuesday and reported that when he opened the box last night, it arrived in excellent condition and had a great set up.. Since I am on vacation, I'll have to wait a bit longer to actually play mine. One key benefit to my guitar is that it was shipped in March and did not sit in a trailer in sub zero weather for its ride to the final destination.

One thing I have noticed is that this thread has been pretty quiet. I would like to hear some comments from FVI owners who have had their guitars for a couple of months now.

I bought my first Larrivee, a flamed maple special edition Parlor in 2004; ordered my second, a custom 12 String LV03 in November 2005 with mahogany top, Venetian cutaway, bone nut and saddle; and a Forum VI last June. All three have a unique combination of wood, body style, craftsmanship and attention to detail. More importantly, they will all be keepers that will be passed along to the next generation. There is likely to be one more custom in my future; a 00 with mahogany top, back and sides, 12 fret, short scale, slotted head stock.

In closing, When I placed my order in June 2021, I recall that I was given a delivery date of 6 to 12 months. Considering the fact that I worked from home for the last 23 months of my career, I want to thank and acknowledge the Larrivee Family, their employees and Mike for taking this project from idea to completion in record time.

I am nothing short of head over heals in love with my Forum VI. I love it's sound, it's feel in my hands and it's beauty to my eyes.

To add my thoughts, simply put, this is a wonderful guitar.  Yes the looks are stunning and that's always a good thing but I am loving the sound. With the caveat that I'm a poor player, I play this one only fingerstyle and since it came without the pickguard that's a good thing.  I've been working on some new material and needing to play up the finger board more than I normally would and when I let a chord ring, it rings out forever.  Clear tones top to bottom.  I will sometimes turn the guitar a bit so I hear the sound out of the sound hole better and I'm amazed at that tone.  What someone watching me play hears is fabulous [almost wish I was listening from the front as I play].  I love the way the back vibrates against my body as I play as well.  It translates into such a sense of being 'one' with the guitar as I play - I know, hokey - but the only way I can think of to describe that.  This FVI is becoming my go to each time I sit in the guitar section of my music room.  Been doing some Joni tunes and those open tunings sound soooooo great on it.  This guitar makes me want to play more and that's a good thing, no, actually, a great thing.

Thanks to all the folks at Larrivee who had a hand, literally, in putting this FVI together.

To All,
Don't know about anyone else, but I haven't wanted to post more about the F-VI cause we had two people left behind until recently. Something to do with finishing the journey in company of the people you started with. But one way or another, everyone has reported in, except for two people who are exempted.

I said before I think the group came up with a great guitar by accident. We know there were some problems, things not as expected, and I am thankful we rolled with it, and people shared their concerns via PM while the guitars were being delivered. At this point, I think anyone can now openly discuss issues and lessons learned. Nicely.

I have a lot of respect for John, and it's good the forum got to work with Larrivee directly. Not sure anyone knew how that would go, I think it went okay. I thanked John in an email, and he said let's give it some time and maybe see about FORUM VII.

I am very happy to have been allowed to tag along for this ride and get in when I did.  I am very pleased with the overall results and could not expect to pick up a better guitar than the one I ended up with thanks to everyone that had a hand in this and seeing it through to the end.

It's been great and I'm really loving getting to know this guitar. My vote for a Forum VII; slope shoulder 12 fret dread with cutaway and the big 1 7/8 neck but with simple appointments (flat top headstock satin finish). Maybe all mahongany........  :winkin: But hold off until I can re-charge my bank account!!!

Put a Schertler pickup/mic into the Forum VI yesterday and drove straight to the Bluebird Cafe to give her a trail by fire...what better place to debut this beautiful guitar than the hallowed ground of this world famous songwriter venue? She sounded beautiful amplified and the Moonwood top was just stunning onstage. This guitar continues to impress, just loving the tones and responsiveness of this instrument! Thought I'd share a couple pics...enjoy!

That's fantastic Scott! One of my favourite CD's is Guy, Townes, and Steve live the Bluebird. Pretty looking guitar too!
