It seems your F-VI arrived a bit sooner than you thought it would!
Does your OM-03 show any resentment to your new American built F-VI?  :bgrin:
Mike

Yup, thought it might be a few more weeks but happy to have it now - actually shipped Dec 30 so that's fast delivery.  And, the border issue seems to not be an issue for guitars! Who knew.

Mine is due Tuesday.  Based on the pics and comments I can't wait to lay hands on mine 😀👍

Wonderful looking back and the top graining is so, so fine...

I think our wood sets are nearly identical. I'm guessing they grew up together!

While I've only picked a few chords and lines so far, this guitar just sings.  Tones ring for an hour.  Full, rich sound.  And, one of the lightest guitars I've got.  The Larrivee [OM-03] in behind this Forum VI has been in the band for a few years, was built in Vancouver in 2009 and the Sitka top has darkened to a beautiful shade.

So very glad I joined in on this special build.  I'm sure this guitar will age beautifully both in terms of the top colour and the tone.  Certainly starting out on a high note!!   :bgrin:
Ralph

Congrats Ralph, another beaut! I've been getting to know mine for the last couple days...rings like a bell! Heading out to a picking party right now, will be passing her around to get some mojo from my pals and will have the chance to listen from the cheap seats, will share some more sonic thoughts tomorrow.

Cheers,

SS

Congratulations to all of you who have received your Forum VI.

Since these guitars first started arriving, I have not yet read a single negative reaction/review and I have been bowled over by the quality of these guitars based on the photos and comments. This thread alone is 38 pages and for anyone who wants to read it, here's my story.

Here's what I've been doing to pass the time. I left home on December 21st to fly to Seattle and spend the holidays with my grandchildren, a set of triplets who also turned 5 on December 26th. I was scheduled to fly home last Monday morning (1/3) and got up at 2am to prepare for the 75 minute to the airport and allow enough time to check in early. For the first time in my life, the plane was recalled th the gate for a mechanical problem and after 5 delays the flight was cancelled and 3 rebookings (aka missed connections) for my second flight from Chicago (or DC), I returned to my son's house in Olympia to regroup and reschedule my return flight. I passed the time Tuesday attending MS Teams meetings for work, catching up on emails and returning phone calls to pass the time. Two days and nights later, I was finally back home. It took another 48 hours for my luggage to make it home after sitting in the Buffalo Airport for 4+ days.

When I turned 50, I ordered my first custom guitar, a Larrivee 12 string (LV03MT) with a mahogany top, Venetian cutaway, bone nut and saddle and arch top case. It was shipped and arrived 9 weeks later in February 2006 and has been nothing short of spectacular. I had always wanted to order a matching six string with the same Specs to compliment the 12 string until fate (aka Mike) intervened this year with the idea to create another Forum guitar. My original input was for a mahogany top with some tweaks, slotted12 fret, short scale neck. But it morphed into the Forum VI with moonwood/walnut, still 12 fret but no slotted headstock or short scale. Such is the spirit of compromise and I am perfectly cool and patient with the process.

I ordered a custom 000 12 fret Martin for my 60th birthday and broke tradition by ordering a Forum VI AT AGE 65 for a retirement gift to myself. My first two customs were shipped in December and February to Trinity Guitars in Jamestown NY so I have zero worries about a guitar being shipped in January. The only problem will be watching the box and the clock after the Forum VI arrives at my door. I hired 9 new employees in November and have plenty to keep me busy at work for the next two months before I drive to Florida for the month of March and get to know my FORUM VI.

Thanks to John, Jean, Matt and the entire Larrivee Team and Mike for making this happen.

For the rest of you (and me): Play on!

A couple pictures of the gorgeous silking on my top. And the pictures don't even do it justice as there's a 3D quality to the top which a camera can't fully capture.

Larrivee always uses such beautiful wood.  Congrats to all you lucky Forum VI owners.  Looks like you got some nice guitars.

Usual disclaimers apply...
1. I wasn't warmed up.
2. The guitar is still getting used to it's environment.
3. Yes, that is me breathing.
4. I figured the relief was too low. It's been adjusted.
5. Been awhile since I did a video.

Yes they do, and yes we did! I'm still in a state of amazement every time I pick it up, looking at it and playing it. Incredible tone, especially for a new guitar.
And Mike, yours sounds great! Nice job!

She's a beauty for sure.  Clear, articulate, balanced with a nice bass thump—and oh so comfortable to hold 👍😀.

Thanks to all involved in making this happen, especially Mike and John Jr.  So glad I jumped on board at the 11th hour.
