I just wanted to have my first post in this forum and introduce myself. My name is Clint and I have played guitar for going on 50 years. I have loved guitars and guitar music since I was a preschool child. It has been the most stable and constant love of my life. It has also been a pure love because I didn't learn to play to get more girls; I was too young to think like that. I just fell in love with the beautiful sounds and stunning looks of a well-made instrument.

I have only recently discovered Larrivee Guitars when I bought a used 1998 D-03 at Guitar Center. It was in near-perfect condition and came with the original case for $605.00 out the door! I had walked by it a number of times and just couldn't do so again. In the Seattle area, Larrivee guitars are not very popular, which surprises me because they are so well-made, sound wonderful, and play very easily. Today I own four, a 1998 D-03R, a 2003 J-03, a 2020 D-40 (with "moon spruce" top), and a 2020 D-40R.

I love them all and I'm very happy to have discovered Larrivee Guitars! I think their quality is comparable to the best out there and I appreciate Jean Claude Larrivee's "hybrid" building system that combines the methods of making steel-string acoustics with the methods used for classical guitars. It's a very winning combination! To my ears, it makes for a very high-quality and very balanced sound. I enjoy owning and playing Larrivee guitars VERY MUCH!

Welcome to the Larrivee forum, Clint!
Nice collection of Larrivee guitars you've got there. Those Jumbos can be mighty hard to come by.
PNW area seems to have a plethora of musicians, luthiers and Larrivee lovers. So you're in good company there in Seattle.

Welcome Clint.  As a Seattle native in Phoenix for the past 29 years I love my Larrivee's.  I too have a 1998 D03R(E) and just bought a new D03RE that I got 3 weeks ago.  Again, welcome!

Hey, welcome to you, Gary.
You actually did just register, just landed your first post and just bought a new D03RE.
TRIPLE THREAT.  :humour:

Hello from North Phoenix!

Welcome here. I, too, am a newbie of sorts. Played most my life, I'm 67, and I more recently fell in love with parlor sized guitars, especially my new acquisition of a 2003 0-01 in Koa wood. This is now my go-to guitar. Good to see you own four Larrivees. I hope to also own more than one! Cheers. Dan
