My friend Rodney Brown's hand made maple Morgan concert cutaway was stolen by thieves who broke into his studio in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Christmas Eve. The guitar was accompanied out the window by his old banjo and other items that you would find in a studio. The Morgan's serial # is 97-365. Here is a decent picture of it. There is a $500.00 reward as well. We all hope Rodney can get his baby back and continue to make great music.

duck,

If it shows up on the East coast I will send you an ear of the thief, for identification purposes.

Sounds like a targeted job.

That's terrible hopefully it turns up.

Where would thieves unload a handmade Morgan in Canada? They wouldn't expect much from a pawn shop. Are they likely to walk into the 12th fret in TO and just sell it? The only places I've ever seen high-end used acoustics has been at Long and McQuade or the (now closed) Acoustic Guitar Shoppe.

drathbun maybe ebay

duck will try and keep an eye on ebay for ya and your friend.
Give us an update when you can.

It may be a bad assumption to think the thieves knew the value of what they stole.  It may have been an amateur job perpetrated by someone who needed some drug money.  In that case, they might be happy to take a couple hundred bucks (or less) at a local pawn shop. :(

I usually check the instrument section of B & Sell coming out of TO. I'll keep an eye out for this one.

Thanks everyone. Rod's happy to have so many friends. Check out his music on his website while you're at it. Some very good folk music there.
