This is an easy answer, anyone that you want.I've played finger style on them all.My favorite was my J05 until my shoulder blew out. When I started I played on a dred. The LSV11 is designed with the fingerstyle player in mind but too me it doesn't matter.Right now my OM03PA which is a 12 fret neck joint is what I'm using for alt tuning fingerstyle stuff but I also finger pick a few tune's on both of my LS's.I guess I'm saying is find the guitar that give's you the feel and the tonal responce your looking no matter the body style.

I'm really happy with my OM-09 and I play mostly fingerstyle on it (with some strumming).  BUT, I'm also thinking about an 00 in mahogany (if one turns up) just for the added comfort.  Using generalities, many would argue that OM and smaller will suit you best for fingerstyle.

One thing I found quite useful when thinking about the different Larrivee sizes and woods was spending some time listening to the sound samples from guitar adoptions:

I went through this just the other day, working my way down from OM to Parlor.  In one sense, they all have the Larrivee sound, but as you get to the smaller sizes, you start to lose that natural reverb present with the larger interiors.  BUT you gain comfort, and that's an important factor.  Note that also with the Parlors you have a pretty short scale at 24".  Some love it for the ease of fret hand stretches.  Those of us with larger hands find it cramping.

The OM or the LS is typically thought of as being the best size for fingerstyle but like unclrob says, any of them work. I particularly like my L-03 that I keep in Open D and play things like "Echoing Gilewitz". The harmonics are outstanding!!!

I think a 000-50 or 000-60 12 fret with it's wider nut and larger soundhole is hard to beat as a fingerpicker  :thumb

Seagull Parlor in Nashville high tuning

I think Larrivees lean towards being fingerstyle guitars in general. Defined balanced notes, perhaps a little brighter than some guitars, lets them articulate with bare fingers.
I haven't played all the models like some here, but like Tuffy, my 000-60 is what I play when I want best bare finger sound.
10-1614 more than a number, it's body and soul.

:+1: either of the 000 12 fretters would be my choice. If you don't have any shoulder problems, I'd go with the SD-50 or SD-60. Years ago I owned an SD-50 and it was the best fingerstyle guitar I've ever owned (and I've had MANY over the years). The SD series have the 1 7/8" neck and a tone that is incredible. I've had several shoulder injuries over the years and had to sell most of my larger body/scale guitars.

If you've got good shoulders, then the SD series can't be beat for fingerstyle, but the 12-fret 000 is another great option.

No such thing as a "best" for fingerstyle if you ask me.  I think a wider nut helps a bit but otherwise, whatever floats your boat.  I've owned Ls, LSs, OMs, OOs..12 fret and 14 fret, it's all a question of how the guitar feels to you.

Personally, I like a smaller guitar.  I own a Larri 00 and Martin 000, both 12 fret variants and they are what I really enjoy playing.  However, if I could get my hands on a D-03R with a 1 3/4" nut, I could be tempted.

My D-03R is the best fingerstyle guitar I have owned. The flat fretboard makes the 1 11/16" seem wider than it is, I have plenty of room anyway! It's also a dandy flatpicker and strummer, truly the best all-rounder I have come across.

L-09. That's it.

There are some different models for those who like variations. But the L is Jeans base shape, he considers it perfect for everything. I agree. I used to have it tuned in different drop tunings and played Celtic and Kottke, now I tune to standard and just started to learn flatpicking. It does whatever you want, just put heavier or lighter strings on.

The SD also has the widest string spacing at the the saddle than all the rest, if that matters to you. Mine is nearly 2 3/8".

Ditto...  Whatever works for you.  I sometimes tune the D-02 to DADGAD and play fingerstyle on that but generally it's the smaller bodied OMs I prefer for fingerstyle.

My L-03R is RIDICULOUS sounding when playing all fingerstyle. Ear sex.

As others have noted, any style will work. If you have the opportunity try a LS 12 fret model (Forum III), they are very comfortable to play.
