Anyone using the Fishman Matrix infinity?

I have a  Breedlove American series C20/SR showing up on Friday.   :bgrin:

I really do prefer to be able to simply "plug-in" a guitar when playing out, so I'll probably drop in some sort of pickup.  What does the hive like these days?  At this point I'd rather not cut a huge hole in the side of a guitar, so something like the Infinity or possibly the D-Tar Wavelength is appealing.

My OM-O3RE came stock with Fishman electronics, and I have always gotten good sound out of it.

As a point of order, K & K says the K & K is incompatible with the JDL bridge system, so the K&K is out; it will have to be an undersaddle pickup.

I've got the Fishman matrix infinity in my L-03R.  I had it professionally installed and I find the tone to be pleasing through a Fishman amp although it is not an exact replication of the purely acoustic sound of the guitar.  Nonetheless it works well. There is a bass switch which, on a larger bodied guitar, must be set to the "bass cut" position otherwise the sound is overbalanced towards too much bass.  The controls are simple and very nicely hidden away.  I really dislike electronic controls marring a fine guitar.  Overall I'm quite pleased.

A few electrics that don't get played much

The Infinity provides both options where previously the Matrix Natural 1 system was meant for small bodies and the NT 2 was the "Bass-cut" version for larger bodies.

The Ellipse blend system (Matrix UST/Mic combo) that was fitted to my Walden had a similar switch on the pre-amp to enable/disable the bass cut function.

All of these systems use the same (Matrix) pickup which is still one of the best in terms of consistency and reliability.
