Anyone like snooker? Great win for us Aussies today with fellow Aussie Neil Robertson taking out the 'Snooker World Championship'. First Aussie to do so. Stoked!  :+1:

Hey, I'm a fan mate! the poms British generally rule in that game - Steve Davis, Stephen Henry (Scottish) are a few names I can think of...
Good for Oz!!
Edit: John Higgins was another name I remember Ben!!

I think you need to be more specific. A lot more Scottish and Welsh snooker stars past and present than English. We've got to be good at something, right??

Congratulations to Neil Robertson none the less though.

I truly hope that all this match fixing stuff turns out to be nothing. It's amazing how one moment of greed can cast a shadow over a whole nation like this. I played snooker against John Higgins' coach once. I was about 12 years old, we just happened to be the only 2 folk in the snooker hall. I got 3 shots. Missed all 3. Think it was 122-0. I decided that snooker wasn't much fun, ha ha!

Yes the match fixing, for the fans I hope it is untrue. Never the less, it was a great game today. I was totally glued onto my TV, I think most Aussies did too. I love snooker and pool, the eyes not as good as it use to, LOL. WOW! Didn't realised the money was so good $400,000.00 for the winner. Lots of Lav there, LOL.
cheers guys

I guess if you put it like that fongie, $400,000 to be the best, or £260,000 to miss on purpose.  I can miss on purpose!!!  I miss all the time - I'm actually really really good at it!!!

I don't understand these match fixing things though.  You work so hard to get good enough for the crimial minds to deem it worthwhile you fixing a match, and then risk it all for cash.  Surely if you are as good as John Higgins then you are already a milti millionaire???  Why the greed for more?  John Higgins aleays seemed a stand up bloke who quite happily gets on with being the worlds best snooker player - it's not like the wolves are at the door.  I don't get it.

Mmmm, your totally right Ben. Greed is something we all have, I'm sure, but how we manage it is another story. You see this alot with other codes, I'm sure it's been done many of times in snooker, but has never been caught out. In Australia, match fixing in cricket has been mentioned. I'm sure Zohn would agree. Greed can be a evil thing but if you get away with the cheatin', good luck to you.
Yeah your right Ben, I miss more times then I pot. But I'm sure if I was match fixing, my legs wouldn't hold me up, LOL. Not even for $300,000.00
cheers

Yep, Hansie Cronje and Kapil Dev got caught - I think way too many other players didn't (and probably won't) ...

From memory, I;m sure Australias Kim Hughs was questioned as well. I agree, those that got away are the lucky ones.

Talking about cheats in sport, what about the Melbourne Rugby League team. No wonder they won the premiership. What is the inside running on all that Fongie?

Sssshhhhh, I don't want to upset Obewan(his from Melbourne)  :whistling: Nah, these guys deserve what they got. I'm a Bronco fan we don't do those sorta thing  :whistling: I'm waiting for the investigation. Definately more that meets the eye, even the players and coach. In honesty, I think all clubs, diff. codes do a little cheatin' here and there. The moral of the story is...."Don't get caught"

I don't follow Rugby League myself, but I have a couple of friends who are keen Warriors supporters and they are really gutted by all the cheating that has been going on in Melbourne. Let us hope all the other clubs are clean.
