Went downt to Sam Ash today and played several Larrivees, boy , Played a D50, would love to own that one day,Or a D60 or a D09 ect....
anyways, there was a Breedlove, Atlas maybe, with electronics, but it had the soundport thing going.
I really like the sound!
It was great listening to the sound go  up as well as out
I think more guitar makers should do this, I was very impressed.

Jim Hollor of Trinity guitars has an open port option on his hand made classical guitars. If you pop the preamp out of an Ovation you get instant sound port. Beyond this I'm not aware of other guitars beyond the Breedloves that offer this feature.
*Larrivee L03 Bubinga
*Kremona Sophia classical
*Taylor 562ce
* Makala Baritone Ukulele

I've seen a lot of very high end guitars with this feature (I just don't recall the luthiers at the moment). Soundports seem to be very fashionable for some (and real turnoffs for others).

If it works don't knock it.

Larrivee L-03 w/Gotoh 381 tuners (African Mahogany/Sitka)
Collings OM2Hc (EIR/Sitka)
Schenk Ophirio (Sapele/Cedar)
Bourgeois 00 Custom (Mahogany/It. Spruce)

I like soundports, Its like a built-in monitor! Some people facing and listening to the guitar claim they can here a difference. I like how it sounds to me!
Time to get out the jigsaw !!! :humour:

A whole lot of respected builders are offering soundports, and the one I actually played made me want one.  Mr. McKnight of McKnight Guitars has done some very thorough testing of resonances and wave output, and there are no sacrifices to the frontal projection yet the player now has so much better sound--and how many of us play just to ourselves!  And you should see the decorative ports he puts on his guitars--beauteous!
Did you ever put your ear on that upper bout side when strumming or making any notes and listen to the dramatic sound inside?!  All of that phenominal sound is stuck in there.
If I could find someone whom I trust that would do it, I would do it to my OM05!  Dont have the tools for it myself.
