Larrivee's Collectors Edition L-09CE was made in US in 2004. It uses Master Grade solid Sitka Spruce top and  AAA grade highly-figured Indian Rosewood sides and back.

If it was used better woods, I was wondering if L-09CE is better than regular L-09 in terms of sounds and playability?

 This is one serious L-09, I love the appointments and especially the somewhat "odd" but delightful herringbone purfling on the sound board perimeter.
I would imagine that the setup and overall build on this one might've been done with a little more extra care...

In a blindfold test you`d be VERY hard to tell any difference, the difference is basically cosmetic. Cheers, Pete

:+1:

But without the blindfold, it would depend on your taste for bling.  That is some seriously nice looking EIR though!!!

Bling?...did someone say bling? I LOVE bling so I LOVE that guitar, it must be the magpie in me! Pete

I don't mind a bit of bling but Pete, the Madagascar rosewood on your new custom...that would be enough bling for me right there!

It is a nice piece of wood on it`s own and as you say, it doesn`t really need any bling... in the same vein Jennifer Aniston is lovely as she is...hang a few diamonds on her and she sparkles!!!!!!  :bgrin: Pete

Something like that...

it sure is a pretty thing...but if its better depends on if you prefer pretty or homely things.

Dayum. Love those sides.

You talking about Aniston? She's not bad from the side either....

I lost an ebay bid for that guitar (by $5.00) a couple months ago.

Then I noticed it back up on ebay two weeks later....with the same seller.

He must have gotten it returned for some reason.

I found a beautiful L-10 SE instead and am very happy with it.

If you like it more it's better. If you don't, it's not. The guitar in those pictures is gorgeous, but I've never seen a Larrivee that didn't have great looking wood. My guitar is from a relatively limited run, but that's not why I like it, and I don't care if it ever becomes collectible, b/e I have no intention of getting rid of it.

I have the same concern because I saw the seller sold the guitar on ebay about a month ago, and dont know why it back up again on ebay???????????????

You could ask - I've met more than a few flake buyers, and it would be a shame to have one of them reflect on the instrument. Or it could have been returned due to an issue.  If you want to bid - definitely ask -
