i'm thinking seriously about selling my 420r mainly because of the 1 11/16 neck. i love the guitar except for this feature. the rosewood gives a nice decent low end and the rest of the sound is well balanced. i am not at all unhappy with the sound at all. i've been doing alot more fingerpicking lately and i just think the wider neck would be more conducive to this style playing. i put a colosi bone saddle in it but still have the original tusque which works well and is set lower if you prefer it. the guitar is in great condition and comes with the hardshell taylor case. it is a 1997 model. i listed it a while back as a trade for a guitar of equal quality which is also an option. i was trying to keep it and just buy another guitar, but i don't think i'm going to be able to swing that for quite a while and i'm getting antsy. i have to ask $1000.00 because i feel i'll need at least that to get something else as good. wish i could give a better deal to forum members but this is where i'm at.

hey gfl,

That bridge sure is uncharacteristic of a taylor guitar.  Is it an aftermarket swap??

The older 400 series Taylors had pinless bridges.
1996 Larrivee L05

the 420r isn't made anymore. its basically a 410 with a pinless bridge, rosewood back and sides instead of the current ovangkol. they were manufactured like that in the earlier years and i'm not sure of the reason.the neck is also 1 11/16 instead of 1 3/4. my first pinless bridge and before i bought it i wasn't sure about what it was and the difference. turned out to simplify string changing and be no issue at all. the guitar is a 1997 model but looks like new. its a great guitar, i just need a wider neck for my style of playing.

can't remember if I sent you an email or not...

would you have intererst in a trade for Electrics?
