I was surprised by so few ordered, I wasn't planning on another guitar but, having other Larrivée's, and a Forum VI, I wasn't missing out on this one.

Top wood personally not for me and a few others I chatted to (after agonising decision and wanting a Larrivee OO for ages) - felt needed more discussion tbh (though cool a new top was chosen for tone difference). Surprised has gone ahead with so few orders (and not all same spec re 03 vs 01) but kudos to Larrivee for sticking to it. Will wait and see what the 60th is and trust you enjoy your new guitars! 8)

The stripes on the redwood look so much like the flamed maple cap of a Les Paul. I think I read somewhere that Matt had chosen that wood for that effect on an RS electric build.

I was actually impressed that it was 7, given the state of the acoustic guitar market at the moment. Mike's variation sort of makes it 8, though it's not an official Forum guitar.

This is actually the most interested I've ever been in a Larrivee guitar. The timing just collided with some personal circumstances that prevented it. I do think that the people who ordered are going to get some of the best sounding Larrivees ever made.

Those photos are great. What sets Larrivee apart is the fact that they are a boutique builder for players of modest means as well as those with deeper pockets. Check out Wendy's inlay work that is off the charts amazing for those who want to incorporate unique artwork into their guitar.

According to the link outlining the history of Forum Guitars that Queequeg posted, in 2005 Larrivee only built 9 Forum II guitars with one body shape and two top options. The Forum VII offered two bodies (00 and 000) and three options for back/side wood and some nice added features. For those who want something different, Larrivee will work with you. I've upgraded  all of my Larrivees to include nicer bridge pins, bone nut/saddle combos and archtop cases.

I upgraded the buttons on my Forum VI with walnut from Charis. Really happy with them.

Thanks for this comment, Mike.  Been bugging me but those comments keep coming.  Just pack it in guys.  You are not part of this for your own reasons and that's fine.  Time to quite commenting.

I think some things have been said, with good intention, that came across the wrong way. I know I've done this myself where I talked myself out of something and shared those thoughts, not realizing how they read to someone who did want or own that item.

IMO, the FVII doesn't need any justification. I don't think anyone figured it out on paper. They took a chance on something unique or they didn't. All that's left is for 7 (8) people to wait for that exciting moment where they take that first strum and find what new sonic landscape they've entered.
