Hot Tuna Concert

Last night, two of my friends and I attended a sold out Hot Tuna concert at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. This was our 6th concert together since Fal 2022. Jorma Kaukonen was on guitar and Jack Casady was on bass and these guys have been playing together since 1965. They played for nearly 2 & 1/2 hours and Jorma was playin a couple of custom sunburst deep bodied OM guitars and Jack was playing a custom bass.

They are doing several more dates in NJ, NY and New England through next week and return to the road after the first of the year and well worth a look and listen. I just returned home  from two weeks in Texas on Tuesday to 4 feet of snow in my driveway. It took a day to dig out and an 8 hour drive one way including 4 hours through snow.

To say Jorma is a master blues finger style player would be an understatement and he hasn't lost a step. Google Water Song and the Good Shepherd on you tube to hear how they sound. We had front row seats on stage left and got a Bird's Eye view of the show. As an added bonus, the band stayed at the same hotel that we were at and we got to hang out and offer beers to the horn player and drummer after the show.
