Here it is! And, I must say this guitar lives to its hype. In fact, I am legitimately surprised how underrated this guitar is and how little marketing exists around it. It is definitely a step above Larrivee's standard line in terms of the quality of wood and construction. This one is from August 2004.

Thank you Dr. Lee (for the guitar) and Queequeg (for the reference).

A quick review before I go back to playing it...
TONE - lovely, balanced, luscious, complex overtones. It has piano-like tone (full and with presence). But, my favorite thing about the tone of the guitar is the resonance and volume. I owned an OO-03R and there is a material difference in volume, resonance, and tone. Much of this is the bracing.

LOOKS - look at the pictures! It's really a piece of art. Love the slotted headstock, the wood is clearly a higher grade than their normal production lines, and the signature maple binding is an elegant touch.

PLAYABILITY - love how easy it is to play, the action on this one right now is a hair higher than what I normally play but despite this, it's very easy to play.

Sweet Lord that is absolutely LOVELY.
Great description, step up in wood quality is interesting.
Do you do videos as would love to hear A vs B (vs your OO-03R)...?
I'm a non-scalloped man but I know what you're getting at. Do you think you'll get the action adjusted?
OO 12 fret, slotted headstock... just gorgeous!!

Oh man, I wish I had the production tools to record a video (and that I had recorded something with the 00-03R when I had it).

I think Larrivee's description is spot on: But at the same time maintaining the unique tonal balance of the standard Larrivée symmetrical parabolic bracing system. An enlarged soundhole allows significantly greater mid-range punch, emphasizing the low end, and increasing overall volume.

It's exactly that compared to the 00-03R.

I must say I haven't been able to put it down since I got it.

I really want an OO.
Though I hear if I did, it might be my only guitar - and I like all mine. I never knew the enlarged sound hole gave more bass

Congratulations!  Really nice photos of a really nice guitar.  Just in case you are not aware they can handle Medium strings as well.  I have Santa Cruz Mid Tension strings on my OO-70.

A while ago Matthew did an AMA and this post contains some info on the introduction of the Traditional Series which which included the OO-50 and OO-60.

There are a couple of good videos on YT from Organic Sounds Select Guitars demonstrating the OO-60. I have no affiliation with them.

The closet thing to a comparison video is one a month or so ago from a Larrivee email from Tune Up Guitars.  It compares a OO-03R and OO-40R, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of3wLImsylI

They do great Larrivee comparisons. I usually have to close my eyes (to remove that sense) and just listen with my ears when checking the A Vs B videos. No correct answer, of course - variety is the spice of life.

OP's guitar truly is a work of art. Stunning to look at.

😍 Beautiful.  Hope you are enjoying it

Holy Cow! Just started a thread asking about this model. Hunting through the forum and found this: my exact guitar! (except I don't have strap pins).

It is a beauty to be sure. and, I agree about the sound and quality of the build. Without question the nicest guitar I will ever own.

Realize this is an ancient thread; I hope the OP sees it and can comment further.

Beautiful guitar, and from what I can see in the background, a truly beautiful home too!
