Hi Everyone,

I was in contact with Larrivee about figuring out the origins of my guitar.  They gave me great answers and said to post it on here.  My dad purchased his Larrivee in the late 1970s for a trade in Gibson plus $500. He played it for decades then gave it to me in 2008.  I have been playing on it since then.  We always new the date of when it was made, 1977, but never knew anything more than that.  Last night I decided to send some photos into Larrivee to see if they could tell and they had me look in a place I never would have thought to find the serial number.  It read 1 0 0 0 0 3.  They told me that when Larrivee moved to Victoria in 1977, they started using serial numbers. I guess mine was the 3rd one he made.  I thought that was pretty cool.

After some damage occurred from strumming years ago, dad had the guard put on.  Other than wear and tear from playing, it's in great condtion.

Let me know what you think.

Kripchook.

Thanks for joining us. And thanks for the pictures.

That looks like an L10.

I believe that's what Larrivee told me.  I love this guitar and I'll never sell it.

Multi-generational guitar company and multi-generational guitar owner. Some legit mojo on that L - literally and figuratively!

Thanks for sharing  :nice guitar:

Does anyone know what this guitar would be worth to someone? Larivee gave me an equivalent value but I'm assuming there are some experts on this forum that might have a good idea.

I'm not selling it but it would be cool to know what someone would pay for it.

It's worth more than you'll be able to sell it for.  :winkin:
Larrivees are the best bang for the buck in high quality guitars and they, unfortunately, don't hold the same kind of resale value that something like a Martin or Taylor might, even though Larrivees are generally much better instruments, dollar for dollar. Much of that has to do with the marketing power of the larger companies.

Treasure it. I'm sure it sounds amazing.
