Currently -8 outside here (with some windchill, too; more like -20 "real feel").

Makes you glad for the Florida rain, huh Rob?  :arrow

Yeah, it must be a slow time for everyone.  Snowy as all get out in the northern climes where I live.  I try to get outside anyway, but long work hours are killing me, plus the chilly chill chill.  Humidifier is running at full blast just to achieve 40%.

Who is going to step up and fill the posting vacuum that Ducktrapper's exit left?  When Danny quit posting regularly a few years ago, the same thing happened.  We all got very quiet.  I can tell you that I don't have enough to say, nor enough wit or desire to be heard to fill those shoes.  But I hope someone else does!  I depend on you people for my entertainment.

Cheers to a long weekend (for some in the USA) and to good health and good playing.   :cheers

18ºF in SE Michigan and snowing.
Going out to the annual The Plymouth Ice Festival in an hour. A scaled down event this year due to covid but always enjoy the  ice sculptures.

Rain chilly air does all sorts of nasty things to my old body and yes glad to be here most of the time, not snow blowing snow to get out of the front door.

Ryler I hardly leave the house and I miss duck and danny.I think the quit on my part is I don't want to rant much due to hurting someone's feelings which is not like me but as I say I'm old.

Mark ice sculping sound cool I use to sculpt in plaster many moons ago.

I'll post some pics.
You have any images of your plaster art?
That reminds me of that old Byrds'album Byrdmaniax with a plaster cast of the bands faces. Used to be 100 years or more ago death masks were created to remember the loved ones.
I guess with everybody having cameras we don't need that anymore, but I really liked them.

Snowing here today. Windchill -15 Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit). Went for my daily walk on the beach, although only a third of my usual time. There's a big hill up from the beach and I didn't want to get stuck down there. My car is fine in the snow, but not everyone has all-wheel-drive and snow tires. It would only take one or two cars sliding on the hill to gum up the works.

My new PA system setup is now complete because the last two pieces arrived on Thursday. Everything sounds amazing. I'm all geared up with nowhere to go.

Sandpipers on the beach

Here's a better video from a couple of weeks ago.

Sandpipers January 29, 2021
Great.
This swarming, or the science of collective behavior is mesmerizing.
As I diver I am always fascinated when observing schools of fish exhibit this same extraordinary choreography.
Read a bit about it here.

Those sandpipers were very interesting to watch.  They seemed so...indecisive.

Hey Cathi,

That's hilarious. I look forward to seeing the sandpipers every day. Sometimes they are there. Sometimes not. Of all the terms I might have applied to them, indecisive has never come to mind. Now that you mention it, I can see it.

It's very windy at that exposed spot with winds gusting to 30 miles per hour.  It's the only place I see the sandpipers.

Occasionally, a flock of them will swerve and fly straight at me, parting just in time not to collide.

Indecisive Sandpipers

 :roll

Great pix :+1:

Those indecisive sandpipers really are a marvel.  Such synchrony of movement.  I love nature...all of it.  They would become my good friends if I lived nearby.  Thanks for sharing the video.

The dawn of the day...such a beckoning!  I bet you fell in love with the world all over again that morning.  Thanks for sharing such a beautiful picture.
