Happy Birthday, Lynn. (Tuffy)

I still remember your smilin' face when we met at the Larrivée factory in 2009.

Hope it's all going well for you.

I finally moved everyone's crap that moved into the shed. A couple of years ago during a storm put a tree thru the club we're doing benefits for, well all the old gear got move to my shed, of coarse the wife and son started tossing stuff in it.So I tossed a bunch of stuff more the gear and now have an almost cleared space that's 16'x 18'.Was going to build walls bit wood is so pricey now that I'm going with Black out curtains for the walls. Got a small pa set up for rehearsal and putting the money together for a nice camera  and a laptop to record the two duo's I'm in and have some people who like to get video's done mostly acoustic acts so I'll be able to make some quid. Gene my lets play metal tune's on acoustic guitar is thinking hosting a Facebook show. Good things may be on the way. I'll get someone to take pix and then I'll email them to you as I'm still user idiot to post them.
Rob's erstwhile shed/new shop images:

If you look at the third pix the crap that use to be there went up to the monitors. That gave a 10x16 area to play.

Time to pull this thread back up (where's Rob - sleeping in a corner?!)...

Today my mom finally passed from this mortal life into the life of the world to come. 89 years, 3 months almost to the day. She's been ready for over a year, with her body falling apart. Now she is at peace and with her Lord.  And we're all thankful (four of us kids; I'm the oldest).

So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing Mike and her troubles over the last year. Losing a parent at any age is never easy!  :donut :donut2 :coffee

To live is Christ; to die is gain.  What wondrous new realities are unfolding before her now.  It is only goodnight—til then.  Sorry for your temporary loss.

Sorry to read of your loss Mikeymac, it's that part of life that we all would rather not have to deal with, take care.

Thanks everyone - appreciate the kind words.

My mom deserves kudos - she was a single mom for awhile after my bio dad/sperm donor decided to "go his own way" rather than do the tough job of sticking around and raising his three boys (I'm the oldest, with a set of younger twin brothers, who turn 60 tomorrow, btw).

So she knuckled down and provided for us (and I have no doubt that my grandparents helped some, God bless 'em). Then she met my step-dad on a blind dad, New Year's Eve, 1966 (into '67). They dated for a few months and tied the knot in summer of '67 in Rantoul, IL (he was stationed at Chanute AFB and my mom worked there in a secretarial pool).

Then he began the process of adopting the three of us, which happened before we moved overseas (to Madrid, Spain / Torrejon Air Force Base) in 1970. He was a good man and a good father figure, although the three of us boys always called him "Mac" because that's how we got to know him when they were dating.

But he was my father, period. And mom finally got to stay home and raise her kids, plus my sister/their daughter who came along right before we moved overseas.

God bless you, Mom (and Mac, who's been gone for 30 years already - wow); I know you're resting in peace until the life of the world to come.

For some reason, I can still remember hearing this song playing on the radio the night of my mom and dad's first "blind date" (it came out about a year before that...):

Herman's Hermits "There's a Kind of Hush"

Still have a soft place in my heart for that song, no matter how mushy or corny...  :thumbsup

That's a nice tribute to your mom, Mike. Thanks for sharing that.

Oh Mike,
Thanks for sharing your memories of your family and your mom most especially.  I'm sorry for the pain of such a poignant loss.  My best to you.

Thanks, much, and yes - lots of good music from those days.

Thank you very much - she will deserve to hear the words, "well done, good and faithful servant." And more important - she was an even better grandmother than she was a mother; my four kids were very blessed by their relationship with her - they all have lots of good memories.

(P.S. My wife is a "Kathy" too - but obviously spelled different...)
