Hey old buddy -

Had to shut the studio down 2 weeks ago today.

After working 42 years and not taking a vacation for the last 10, it felt a little obscene to have to apply for unemployment this weekend.

Mom and I are both healthy.  Still coming into the studio for workouts and music every day, but zero income is tough, obviously.

A little too chilly yet for long bike rides, golf course closed.

Finally get some "time" and I can't go anywhere.

How's that for irony!
"One small heart, and a great big soul that's drivin"

Good to hear you are both doin okay..........for me, doin just fine too. Doin as I am told for once, LOL!! I must admit, very hard being told I can't go here or there, especially now with the heart condition. Stay safe guys

Well I'm glad to hear that you're okay and the family, too.  We are expected to reach the peak in my state toward the end of this month, so ask me later.  So far, so healthy, though.  I'm still working, and am a combination of grateful for that fact and scared by that fact.

Yes, Todd, that's a sad irony that you finally have the time but no place to go!  And fongie, I'm relieved to hear that you're complying with the instruction to shun the world.  We want to keep you around to chat the place up.

I'm in sales, still working from home.  Here in California, even golf courses are closed.  I belong to a gem of a course just a mile from my house, really missing it.  I walk 18 holes there regularly.  So I'm spending a lot more time playing these:

Mostly just hanging out at home getting my cars all cleaned up for the summer and repairing lawn equipment.
Looking forward to taking some short road trips just to get away from home but won't go too far, you couldn't pay me enough to stay in a motel.
Glad you's are doing well

Yeah...

I get some of the "social distancing" for people who are actually sick, or somehow physically "compromised" (love all this new language...), but for the rest of us, this is nuts - especially for many of us who live in flyover country where we are spread out and there aren't many cases of this particular virus (hey, I survived Influenza A about a month ago - many, many more people dying from than than from COVID-19!!! We need to put this in perspective!)

RANT OFF. Time to talk about guitars again...

Not sure where you got your figures but keep in mind the flu cases have been recorded since October of last year and the Covid 19 just started in February.

I'm happy that some of the people in charge are listening to the doctors and scientists.

Did it? I believe it started months before that. Lot of ... misdirection going on. Could have started earlier which may even be good news.

I'm curious. Because they're never wrong? Even if they base their advice on models that are way off? Never have guaranteed jobs that are in no danger? None of them are ever carrying water for you know W.H.O.? I could go on but politics are off limits.   :beer

Working from home (IT Contractor near Wash DC), riding bicycle as much as I can - but solo, playing the guitar a lot more. Starting fingerstyle lessons - my instructor is envying my OM-40!

Hang in there, folks!

At this link if you scroll down there is a graph and below that is a day by day listing of the cases reported. You have to get into march before the numbers start ramping up.

Here, the governor just said they are seeing a big decline in the number of cases so they are extending the rules to the end of April.

I don't know the absolute truth about the virus and, like many other things in life, I don't believe there is a way to know.  Like nutrition, fitness, hot button political topics, theology, etc, people usually just end up taking a position at some point and treating that as gospel.  All wearisome stuff to me.  I guess I'm ok with just not knowing.   Me, I work in one of the necessary industries and have been working this whole time.  I feel awful for all impacted though.

Here in the AZ desert west of Phoenix, in a 55+ gated community (with lots of underlying risk older people...), my wife and I are doing fine.  Bicycle rides around the community, bocce ball with our own set in a somewhat deserted community park, lots of guitar playing (just got a Vox AC30 mini amp. Very very cool), puzzle solving, and grocery shopping online.

Some here are predicting new birthdays in 9 months.  Maybe.  Others predict that close quarantines might lead to marital troubles!  Stay sane, my friends.
Play it daily for best results.

If I were a bettin' man, I'd definitely bet on this one (I've been saying this for the past few weeks, so I'm obviously all in on it).

Thankfully it's impossible for my wife and I at this point in life...  :whistling:

Very weird time for me x2 ,staying in with the woman I just divorced, looking for a place to live
With all that is happening in the world,I hope I can move soon,
This is very awkward
I am playing guitar alot more though, and really enjoying my new Greco les Paul and
Squire Tele
Still working and have to wear the mask at work at all times
I'm really tired of this,I hope all gets better soon, very sad and
Weird at the same time
God bless us all.
