I'm actually serious with my suggestion. Build L's and traditional Larrivée designs, (including clear pickguards) under the Larrivée logo and the Martinesque models under an Anglicized name. Even Bert Faver might buy a couple.  :laughin:
:laughin: your suggestion on the surface from my vantage point certainly has merit though running a second name may open up a whole other spectrum of problems in marketing & distribution. Wonder if it has ever really been considered  :?

I thought of this years ago when first telling people on guitar forums about my 1975 L. This was before this forum and when Larrivées were rarer than hen's teeth. You'd get Larva?  Larrabee? Laramie? etc. and while I joke about it, Americans often do struggle with French names. Brett fARve is an obvious one but there's Duh-troyt, Greg Gag-knee, Porsh, just a few miles from us we have Grand Portidge. I'm absolutely certain there are people who won't buy a Larrivée because they're uncertain of the name. They can pronounce Taylor. Martin. Gibson. It's marketing 101.  Why not make it easy on them? Richard Hoover calls his guitars, Santa Cruz because, you know, Hoover's suck.   :cheers

As someone whose name starts with an L and ends with an e, I feel safe in saying this stuff.
