Eventually, some more of the grumpy old deadwood around here will die off and this will once again be an inviting place...

Happy Solstice folks.

Ed, sorry you feel that way.   But be encouraged by the fact that for some of us the wait won't be long.

Well, we lost Steve a couple of months ago.  Who do you want to go next ?

Folks I feel I must say; that if at any time you are remotely feeling this way over conversations had with persons on the internet, it might be time to disengage, reflect and spend some quality time with those in the "real world" whom are dear to you.

Can't say I ever remember axe grinding to this degree around here. The jokes are great; the death wish-ful thinking I find to be in very bad taste.

Hmmm. Death jokes?

Man walks into a library and asks "Have you any books on suicide?"

"Certainly" says the Librarian, "but we don't loan them out."

"Is that so, why not?"

"Well" says the Librarian, "no one ever brings them back..."

What's the difference between a Jazz guitar player and a country guitar player?

Jazz player knows 3200 chords and 5 people come to his gigs.

Country guy knows 5 chords and....

"Senior" member means "old" right?
Like over 50?

Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

Q. Why is six afraid of seven?

A. Because seven, eight, nine.

oh boy Math quiz!!

Square root of 69?

8.....something.

Recently overheard in my home:

My wife:   "I'm going shopping at Old Navy"

6 year old grand-daughter, Caroline:    "Don't you mean old, old, Old Navy ?"    :arrow

Although it's been a few weeks since the last post in this thread, I thought I might resurrect and comment, as I do not frequent this forum so much anymore and stated my reason some time back--which seems to be the course of this thread.
First off; Tuffy, Queegueg, and Joyce--you really do very well at a thankless task. And yes, Joyce, I had your 12/21/18 post in heart and mind when I decided to just Let It Be and go somewhere else when I wanted online reading and interacting. I don't consider myself overly sensitive (I taught alternative ed. for 19 yrs!), but found the sniping and dismissiveness (in too many threads) more than I cared for.
I still do peek in, having friends I still want to keep in contact with, and it is hoped the (almost typed a rude accusatory pejorative--but I try to live in grace) ones chasing others away will find some empathy and social sensibility.
Random acts of kindness anyone?

"Sniping and dismissiveness in too many threads"? Worse than other forums?  :?

I've been spending time on the Acoustic Guitar Enthusiast Forum, I think that's what it's called.  There ain't no negative personal jabs allowed at all.
It does make for a very user friendly forum.
Zohn does most of the moderating. He is always in good humour it seems. And many others are sure to make folks feel welcomed.

   Just food for thought.
