Had I lived a little bit closer to the seller, I would've been all over this.

at approx $1000 less than the market value.. Some one better grab this....

------------
Edit
I don't know the seller, nor have I seen the guitar.

Deal of the century? Well ... it's still early, after all. Nice guitar. Looks a lot like my OOO-50.

Can anything be a deal of the century so early in a century  :? .

I don't care how early it is, yes that's the deal of the century.   If it's legit and crack-free.  Even if you needed a neck reset it would be the deal of the century.  I'd be looking at it if I were anywhere near there.

$1400.00? It's not like it's free. What do you think you could see something like that for? (Uses evil genius voice) A miiilllllion dollars?

I've played that model.  It blew me away.  At that price, assuming all is well, I would definitely buy it.

NOW.

Okay.. I actually didn't mean it was the deal of the century... I was just making a point saying this is a one heck of a deal :)

Maybe it's the deal of a lifetime  :arrow   ( weak  :humour:)

That is one nice deal.  Love the burst.  I here they build a very light guitar.  I would love to play it, and then I would probly be behind a month on my house  :arrow :crying:

I saw this on Craigslist when it first came out. I dismissed it as "too good to be true" and thought it would be a waste of time.

After reading how excited you guys got about this, I replied to the advertisement.

Here's the reply

Hello

The product is available and it is in perfect condition working great.First of all I can't make this deal face to face because I am in United Kingdom with my job.  I want to continue this transaction through a 3rd part ParcelUK Delivery...I am in England and I have talked with the people from ParcelUK already. The item is at them ready for delivery and I paid for the taxes and fees already.I worked with them in the past and everything was fine..Please let me know if you want more info about the delivery process.

Thank you

Caveat emptor....is all that comes to mind.

Anytime I have listed anything on Craigslist, I get a similar reply.  It doesn't matter what I have listed, I always get some scamming clown contacting me with that same type of deal.  I always state "local pick-up, cash only" and they still contact me with that crap.  And when they list an instrument of that quality at a price that low, it is "too good to be true".  Buyer beware.

I waited to comment, but will now. First of all thanks to ST. This would have been a great deal on a very desirable instrument. It's at the top of my list, and others. But as had been said, too good to be true.

I hate this world right now and don't regret one bit saying so. :donut

Too bad it is a scam.  Run, don't walk, away from it.

It's really too bad that Buyers on Craigslist and Kijiji wouldn't follow the same philosophy of in person with valid ID cash only!!!

These scam artists exist only because there is a market   Pigeons are being located each day.

From guitars, jewelry, to tickets to the Olympic Games just send me your money :yak:

If on either Kijiji or Craigslist you can't do the deal in person, Don't do it!!!!!!!!

I hope you guys didn't get the impression that I was even considering this.

I was addressing this august group, sharing the text verbatim without further comment, certain in the knowledge that we would all recognize this for what it is - a total waste of time.

I have found a few interesting things on Craigslist, but strangely, never anything nearly as spectacular as this deal would have been if it had been real. By interesting... I mean like the day that I met the owner of a guitar store, now closed, that was selling the remains of the inventory from his condo. I bought a boat-load of stuff from him expressly to give away or raffle at my Showcase/Jam gigs. (guitar straps, neck supports, string winders, guitar stands, guitar hangers). As for instruments or anything electronic, I have found that Long & McQuade is typically very close to the pricing I've seen on Craigslist and they offer a 30 day return policy, 90 day warranty  on gear, and on most gear they can offer an extended warranty.  I'm not pumping Long & McQuade for any particular reason, except that over the last 5 years since I became aware of Craigslist, I have consistenly found that for anything over $100, if they had it, Long & McQuade was a better source than Craigslist.

On Craigslist, I  have to hope that somebody selling something for a good deal has some good reason for selling that doesn't make me feel as though I am feeding on someone's misfortune, or ignorance.  (Seller's hardship or selling is reselling something stolen, or doesn't know the value of what he's got). If I get any of that during the initial contact, I pass.

The Santa Cruz thing just reeked of scam to me. That's why I didn't bother until you guys got all excited.  Then, the pursuit became an object lesson.

How Sweet! I just got offered a job (email to the address I use for Craigslist only...)

Lovely: A job posting Craigslist scam posts.

This is a scam of course as everyone has said.  What I find interesting is they usually replay like this to my ads.  I have not seen them put their own ads up.  Besides the too good to be true point always look at their grammer it is usually very bad.

darn. sorry gents.. I thought it was the real deal :(.

'too good to be true' is right.
