That was really nice. Guy has a very relaxed, easy groove going on this tune.  :nice guitar:

yes, as it should be. That's the thing about that whole album. Jazzy but relaxed. Complex and interesting without a billion notes. Big play with time as name siuggests. Grew up with that album then relieved my parents of it when I left home and got the CD when it came out. One of all time great albums. Got to see Brubeck when living in St. Thomas in a wonderful small outdoor ampitheater. Your lucky to be able to hang with such a good player.
I was lucky enough in Atlanta to live a the neighborhood where Thumbs Carlille lived and got to see him often. I recorded whenever I could. (with his permission) Glad I jumped on that cause he died very soon after I recorded a bunch of it.
A lot of the recordings are on this page.

He did Time Out and I recorded it but Russell Malone is playing with him (about 21 at the time) and I was kinda afraid to put it on web since I couldn't get with him.
Hope I didn't hijack but I love Brubeck and it reminded me of Thumbs. I still stay in thouch with his wonderful family.
10-1614 more than a number, it's body and soul.

I used to play this tune but I cold never get beyond this sort of herky-jerky motion, so eventually stopped playing it.
Saw Brubeck back in '85 in Kansas City outdoors in Brush Creek.
flatlander, you lived in St Thomas? I lived int the Eastern Caribbean for a couple of years (1999-2011).
Heading to Cuba next weekend for the Int'l Jazz Fest in Havana for 10 days.

Lived in St. Thomas 2 years. 90-92. In Puerto Rico a lot too. Before moving down there, and while living in STT. Work related.
Absolutely beautiful view from our deck overlooking Magans Bay and BVI.

I wish to improve more on my guitar skills. Thank you for sharing some on Take Five!
