I'm going to take a wild guess and say it got bangged or..........................didn't use a humidifier. :crying:

both guesses are wrong.  the guitar has not been banged and when not being played it's stored in its case in temp and humidity controlled room.

Well Friend have you taken it to a credible guitar person to view in person as you have noticed the issue over a week now :?

yeah, i keep my home studio temp and humidity controlled.  i'm not sure exactly how long the crack has been there, but i know it wasn't there the time before last when i changed my strings.  but that's that's the nature of crack, right: they're not there until they are.

i talked to matthew a day or so ago (was supposed to call earlier, but i've been swamped by work).  he thinks it looks and sounds like a crack in the ebony veneer.  ebony is pretty brittle and given that a veneer is so thin, they can on very rare occasion crack.  matthew said it's nothing to worry about really (headstock is about to fly off or anything), but when i find a week or two when the guitar isn't going to be used, just send it to him and they'll fix it like new.
