My Larrivee Classical Guitar (LS-30) was built in 1974 in Toronto, Ontario.  I bought it new in 1975 in Victoria, B.C.  History of Larrivee's shop indicates that David Wren and Linda Manzer were apprentices in his shop in 1974.  So, I wonder who actually built my guitar?  Probably no answer.  Wren and Manzer are both well respected Canadian luthiers.  Manzer's website shows a used acoustic for ~$15,000 and a new one for ~ $30,000 USD.  Are these prices correct? :donut :donut :donut :coffee

My guess is you could ask Larrivee, but they wouldn't know who's hands actually touched it. More than likely, more than one person. And, yes, those are prices with the decimal point in the correct location. Don't get me wrong, I wish I could build a guitar that would sell in that range, but I probably still wouldn't be able to afford to pay for one in that stratosphere.

Wow..I checked that website out...gotta wonder..what does a 32,000$ guitar sound like??
If I had that kinda money to throw around, I'd order myself up a smorgasbord of guitars....Guild D55, Martin D28, maybe a Tayor, a Gibson...and probably another Larrivee or two  :bgrin:
