Nick Drake's "Northern Sky"

This is one of my favorite Nick Drake tunes.  Brian Stear and I are working on a new CD and this will be on it.  This is the first mix and I'd appreciate your comments.

I know it's mp3 and not the best audio quality, but please let me know what you think of the recording.

Ben, I know this isn't true to the way Nick played it.  It's my own arrangement in Drop D tuning and I sure can't nail Nicks vocals like you can!

Hi David,

There is so much to praise here, I hate to mention this, but it feels just a tad too wet.  I know that's a matter of  taste. What effects are you using on the instruments and vocals?

ST, not sure what he did, but  I know is it sounds a lot better before compressed for internet use. 

I'm not the best singer, and I think they tried to hide a questionable vocal note or two with reverb. That might be what you're hearing.

Am I right in saying that the 'wetness' is not effects, but perhaps a double tracked 6 string and perhaps double tracked mandolin?

I'd like to hear them non-double tracked if possible.
