Tad,
Are you still playing the LV I sold you?  Of the ones I have sold, I have wondered about this one and how it would "mature"--one of the few rosewoods I remotely liked (and boy, was it a beauty polished up!).  As I moved into a DAdead tuning last night I thought about how that LV would sound.

The LV-09 that I had sounded amazing in drop D and C tunings...deep, deep, deep!  Unfortunately, I was never comfortable with the neck on it (much more beef than my OM-05 neck), so I sold it and bought a D-03R, which also sounds excellent (but that LV was beautiful!).  I think I still have a couple pics...

Mike, I too am much more likely to play my OM05(!)--but b/c of the body size, which is why I sold the L'.  But I do remember that depth of sound with the LV.  Too bad my shoulder mandates an OM  or smaller.
My OM05 stays in DADGAD w/ true mediums and just continues to get better.

Hey Bernie - That was a truly gorgeous and wonderful sounding guitar.  Unfortunately, in the negotiations to obtain the baritone, I needed a "regular" Larrivee to offer up, and of those I offered, they - most intelligently - chose the LV.  It now is living most happily up in Seattle.

The best I can offer is that I have played a number of guitars that were 4 or 5 times the price of the LV, some of which were very nearly its equal in beauty and tone - I miss it too, but gaze lovingly at the BT-60 and calm myself as best I can.

Tad
Bunch of Larrivees - all good -
and a wife that still puts up with me, which is the best -

Beautiful guitar but the put the dang cutaway on the wrong side.

Well, if it was to acquire a baritone, I can understand.  I really missed the boat when I didnt buy one of the Tacoma baritones--this was before the buyout, and the price was a steal.  Now I dont see them anywhere.  Another one of those I just sat and played (and played) at Elderly.
Now I want to go deeper, and have my heart set on a harp guitar.  (Not because I want to be Michael Hedges...)

Roger--that was going to be my first response also, but sometimes those lefties are sensitive about their builds!
