The sale was one day only, sorry I didn't see these posts until today.

Here is the link anyway, maybe they will extend it.  http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-ZOO-H2-LIST

It does still show some at lower pricing (129 and 139)  I'll report back on the condition of the one I receive when it get's here.

Danny, if the memory card cover is broken, don't worry.  It will be within 30 seconds of you using it anyway ha ha.  Apart from that, there really isn't much that can go wrong.  Mine came with a silicone case, which for under $10 I can recommend as it protects the unit very well.

Is the case a glove type that stays on the unit?

yeah, it has thin silicone for the button panel, and cutaway sections for the mic and access to the memory card and thread for the stand at the bottom.  I usually hate silicone cases, but it was a great fit and really protected it.

They go through batteries quite quickly, so i used mine plugged in a lot, but the power chord isn't very long, so on numerous occasions I watched mine fly across the room when the cable tangled with the headphones cable or my foot.  I certainly recommend the case.

Yeah the memory card slot cover broke on mine within about 1 minute of opening the box.    No matter, I don't ever remove the card anyway but it's just a cheap design.  The rest of the H2 is great though.   I never knew I could get such high quality digital recordings so easily.   Danny you'll love this thing.    :thumb

I have the Zoom PS04; 4 track w/ effects and beats, etc.   Just have done minimal test checks with it (all these buttons ), but seems everytime I try to sit and "put the red light on," a tractor or plane goes by, or someone calls... (where's the banging head on wall smiley?)
So, no recorded songs yet.

Ha ha, the red light changes the most laid back of people into a perfectionist nervous wreck. Of all the songs I have ever recorded, there is probably 1 I was totally pleased with, and my 3 your old charged into the room on the last line and spoke all over it!!! You have to laugh!

Amazon has the Zoom H2 new in the box for $139.91; shipping is free.  For the extra $10 I'd rather have factory fresh instead of a repackaged return.

Sure, now ya tell me. :winkin:

I normally play sitting in my living room. Before I even think about recording.with my H4 I have found that I need to take the battery out of the wall clock and turn off the filter on my small fish tank.  Have been surprised by the sensitivity and quality of the microphones from such a small unit.

Looking forward to hearing some more of your tunes Danny.

It's true about the sensitivity of the mics.   More than once I've been listening to a playback of something I recorded in my garage / studio and was surprised to hear a neighbor's lawnmower or a mockinbird singing that I never even noticed when I was recording.    chiming clocks are another culprit.

Or a sleeping pug...  :humour:
Serious though, I recorded at a friend's once, and when I played it back the next day, there was this faint sound of a sleeping person in the back ground, which turned out to be his Staffie that slept under the couch.

My first song, finally. I just got tired of waiting and recorded a short tune that I made up today.
