The wood on the side and back are solid, correct?

Marcus,
If you are comparing the Martin to a Larrivee D03 , the Martin is rosewood, and the regular D03 is sapele, the sapale to my ears is not as bright and in your face like a Rosewood guitar is, the Sapale is kinda pretty sounding , not really a strummer so much.
The Martin has the typical Martin sound, woody and loud and warm at the same time.
But dont get me wrong, I love both the sounds
, dave

hmm, it seems that im looking for a rosewood equiped acoustic since im mainly a strummer. Actually im mainly a electric player, but feel a nice acoustic is needed to write some sweet songs with. Let me know on this gtr, also send pictures please, I need something to drool about until I find my One!
thank you,
mg

Thank you David! It was good meeting you and she does sound better at home than in that parking lot!   :winkin:
Ah, to have a choice of a hog vs a rosewood dred to play... :nana_guitar

Saxman, at the moment my Larri has old strings on it, I don't even remember what brand, and I have some new Martin strings I'll have to put on her. Right now the D-15 is killing the Larri, sound wise, do to the Elixors on her and old strings on the Larri. Maybe I should pick up some Elixors to make it a better comparison. As for appointments, the Larri D-03 has the D-15 beat. The D-03 has a bound Ebony fretboard and Ebony bridge, maple body binding, a nicer soundhole rosette and the older D-03s (mine is a 2004) are mahogany vs sapele. Sapele is in the mahogany family, I believe, but it is nice to hear Larrivee say the b/s is mahogany and not sapele.

The D-15 is a no frills guitar but retains that Martin sound, to my ears a deeper bass. Other than appointments, the comparison is hard to do being one is rosewood and the other mahogany.

Here's a link to the rosewood D-15 on Musician's Friend http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Martin-D15-Custom-Spruce-and-Rosewood-Acoustic-Guitar-Left-Handed?sku=514697

Does that help?

Yes, that helps alot, I had already read up about these and thanks to davy and you,  know that I am looking for a dreadnought or a "OM" style larrivee with rosewood and or...another martin with solid woods and rosewood.
what is your opinion on the difference between a Om and dread body style. I know what a dread is...just, how a om compare to a dread.
thank you both of yall.
