That first place video is great.

I have to say despite what Larrivee's site says, it's not creative. The 'everyday sounds set to music' thing is way over done. It was well produced and everything, but someone could write a book on the history of ''everyday sounds set to music' in video.

I liked the other two though.

I agree that the winner was well produced but it really left me flat.
I've seen it done before with cars, cell phones, tires....even breath mints.

I saw that in the collection of Larrivee videos, they had a couple of Warren's (saffron_boots) and my Little Martha's there too...I seem to remember submitting my first version of After the Battle on my L-03 but I don't think it's in there...

What model Larrivee is the first place winner (Ben Beitzel) playing? The video is still on the home page of www.larrivee.com.

I just watched them.  I think the best thing about the first place winner was the camera angles.  I especially like it when the guy would sort of rock back and forth and the sunlight would peek through the trees a bit.  I don't really like that kind of guitar playing, so it left be shrugging my shoulders a bit.

The sides look to dark for Mahogany, but it could be the lighting.

I wonder how many vids they had to choose from . . . not hundreds, I'd guess.

I loved Mikes video. Ok its big on the Ahh factor but the guitar sounded sweet, his singing hit the spot, and lets be honest, among us parents who hasnt done exactly that. Mikes #1 for me

I thought his guitar sounded great as well.  And certainly much better than the guy's who won.

This was a really good idea on the part of Jean Larrivee and family.  I've never seen this kind of thing among instrument manufacturers.  I applaud the Larrivee family for being innovative and trying something that's uncommon which ultimately lends a little every-day-people-substance to advertising.  None of it was studio-quality and that impresses me.  The winner of anything is always in the judgment of the viewer.   I just appreciate what they've done with their advertising.
