This thread seems to be moving suspiciously towards personal attacks. No need for that. Though this is obviously the Larrivee Forum there is no need to be blind to the fact that Larrivee is first and formost a capitalistic business venture. They make a fine guitar at each of their price points for sure This, however, does not obviate the fact that just like all other business they DO MAKE MISTAKES. I can attest to this fact because I own a $2000+ mistake they made. The question here is how they handle their errors. Until I hear about the results concernig the guitar that caused this thread to originate I am not going to speculate further. I, for one, hope it resolves well as I will then be contacting my dealer and moving forward from there to get my issue resolved. That being said, there is no need to delve into the area of personal attack/sarcasm when adults are discussing technical issues about a guitar. Sheesh........ peace out, the individuals being sarcastic aren't even the ones with any problem with their instruments.

Lv I've done 257 neck resets according to my book.

In response to my confusion, though, how do you shave the neck enough from the bottom to make much of a difference without making the bridge feet noticeably thin? If we're talking about a 000-50, for instance, the pyramid bridge would pose a problem for that method, I would think. And your conclusion is that many guitars that appear to have a neck issue do not need a reset? How do you tell the difference? Sorry for all the questions, but this is opening up a whole new book for me.

I'm no expert.Before sanding the bridge bottom I take measurments including where my streight edge hits the bridge,height of bridge wings and any angle inward of the wings.If the bridge wings angle in then I have to decide if will cause a problem if so then its a no go.Sometimes I make a new bridge.The wings on a bridge is more decorative then having anything to do with structure or tone{the middle of the bridge is there for that}.Its always better to ask questons then not,so ask away anytime.When I don't know I ask my network of fellow repairpeople.I'm always learning.So to all call,email PM me if I can help I will.

When I had a problem with the neck/bridge on my Parlor, Larriveé,  I followed the wise advice of unclrob, and sent the guitar to  Larriveé.  They repaired the issue with no evidence of any repair work (and I gave it my best OCD inspection)
Quicker than expected turnaround.

jeremy3220,you are right I've seen a rash of tall cut bridges.The neck angle has been  right on and still no saddle height.Sometime to get product out someone rush's something or the CAC is just not setup right.

This is clearly not the case in ibisimon's case, is it? His string to top height is barely 3/8". Isn't that a clear indication of a neck problem?

In most case.It should be inspected by a pro.Since its a new guitar it should be sent back.

I left this thread alone because it was making me want to say smart -CENSORED- things, so I just checked back. As usual, if that's the case with name, if I open my mouth with such I stick foot in it. I didn't realize that's what name stood for, I thought it was like guitar god. I have all respect, which is in part why I said that, and apoligize. matt
