Confused about L03 pickguard!

I've been checking out L03's at local shops and pictures on line.

Should a new from the factory L03 have a clear pickguard or the brownish curvy thing? Or is there a choice to be made? Personally i like the brownish curvy thing..

I know its a small insignificant question but you guys seem to know all..

the newer (2005, 2006) l-03s should have the tortis style pickguard. if it doesn't have it, then the l-03 is new old stock.

If you are ordering your guitar, you can specify the clear pickguard at no extra charge. At least that's what Brian T. said when the tortis style pickguard became standard equipment.
