The wife took me to see Josh Groban last Thursday. Good show along with a Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. Anyway, we were up in the rafters but I could see that one of the guitars Groban's accompanist Tariqh Adoni was playing was a Larrivee L model of some sort. We got a DVD and while watching it, I freeze framed on the peghead. Sure enough, that silver border came through big as life. Going to his website, http://www.tariqh.com/, he has a link to Larrivee.com. Heck of a guitarist and he has been doing some work with Huey Lewis lately.

According to Larrivée Artists site.

Tarigh Akoni (Whitney Houston, Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Love Hewitt)

I'm almost embarrassed to have him in the club with that pedigree. ;)
BTW - Which spelling is right and how the heck do you pronounce it?

I'm sure they all paid very well. In the old days the session guys would play for anything as long as the check cleared.

But I don't know that I'd be bragging about that discography, in a resume.

Hey show me the money and I'd play with ... Kenny G. Even if he didn't want me too.

He spells it with a "Q" not a "G". And I think he pronounces it tar-eek.

He has been doing some dates with Huey Lewis and the News so that helps his resume in my eyes. The concert was great by the way.

I just saw a singer/songwriter by the name of Dorothy Scott who played a mid-90s D-03R. It's her main stage guitar. The spruce top had aged to that warm honey color. It sounded amazing unplugged too.

I played at the same gig, she really like the sound I was getting out of my D09.

I was checking out some recent Woodsongs webcasts when I also had a Larrivee sighting. Serena Ryder is a young singer from outside of Toronto who sounds like Janis Joplin, but with the perkiness that belies her 18 years on this earth. She plays what looks like a satin rosewood parlor and man she's got some pipes on her!
