We may go round and round on the rosette decision (no pun intended)...

On the 03 Series, I'd prefer NOT to have abalone - seems out of place. Either herringbone or rope work for me.

Glad we got the Moonwood, though!!! Thank you, Larrivee!!!

Here's rope:

1st preference is Herringbone, but all are fine choices. I'll be good with whatever the group goes with.

Cheers,

Rope, then abalone would be interesting, but exceedingly happy with any of the options.

That does look nice. I would be fine with that too. Just not as big a fan of herringbone.

My first preference would be abalone and then rope.

Abalone or bust!  This is a Larrivee, not a Martin!

We have 5 high contrast features on the front of the guitar, which are the pins, the saddle, the VI inlay, the nut and the Larrivee logo.
I think the abalone works best with those 5 features, especially so near the VI inlay.
Also I think the colorful hues of the abalone will work well with the walnut.
I have tortured myself all morning over this.
Abalone.

But, but.... this guitar may have started as a run-mill LS-03, but it isn't anymore.
The VI is darn near a complete custom guitar. The only thing we haven't changed is the headstock and binding (and we won't either) and the satin finish.
I think snagging a deco item from the -05 and up series is cool. I didn't feel that way awhile back, but I have evolved since then.

I suspect (hope?) that none of these rosette options will be a deal-breaker for us. Eagerly awaiting the rest of the details and (for me) the most salient point - price.

OK, it is just after high noon here in Lytle, and John hasn't posted yet.

The price of the LS will be 2199.00
The price of the LSV will be 2536.00 (+337)
Any pickup option is 299.00 installed.
Deposit will be 20%
We will be ordering direct from Larrivee who will ship direct. No dealer. We ourselves have done all the coordination a dealer would have done.

Details for ordering will come from John.
There will be more forthcoming when John posts.

Which kind of reflects back many posts ago, about my head hurting, ha,ha
What to decide, what to decide?
What we may like today, could be a whole different thought several days later.
We all have our preferences, that’s why there are so many different guitars and options.
Part of the *trick* is getting us all to agree.

You are completely correct. In my case what I thought yesterday, I thought about again, and changed my mind.
So I have one single opinion.
On the other hand, no one seems to hate rope. Except LawDog, who didn't actually say it. He just said "or bust".
Then on the other hand, maybe abalone will take away some of the gloriousness of the VI inlay.
So I guess, what is it that we want to stand out.
Oh, I just thought of another thing. There are no abalones on the moon.

You know, we could let someone else decide.
I could ask John to ask Jean what kind of rosette he thinks the VI should have.
Then we would know Jean helped us design the guitar.

+1 nice guitar
I'm not overly opinionated on the rosette. What I am, is anxious to hear this guitar. I'm in regardless, and I really like the idea of Jean giving us his opinion.
