Another coronavirus victim, although his health has been diminished for a few years now.
Sad to hear this news.

I'm feeling this one a lot. His music was a huge personal influence. Though his body was in rough shape, his mind was still sharp in recent interviews I'd seen. He would have probably had a bit more time were it not for the pandemic.

Thinking back to the many John Prine songs we just couldn't wait to learn and play. If I could count them, I'm sure I know more songs of his than any other single artist. Simply one of the best!

Very sad at this news. He was a big influence on me and so many others. RIP John. Enjoy that nine mile long cigarette and vodka cocktail! It's almost like he knew.

Enjoying his greatest hits this morning.  Lot of common sense wisdom in his lyrics.

Same here.  I play a bunch of his older stuff.  Got to see him in Orono, Maine in 1989 along with Livingston Taylor as an opening act.  Back then, he was in his "prine" with a cigarette stuck between the tuners as he told a story.  Another one gone...just sad.

Over the last 5 years, can't imagine the Virus taking someone who put more new material on my playlist than Prine.  RIP

Very sad, even though I didn't know the gentleman nor his music, it's not a nice way to go.......RIP John. Condolences to the family.

If you haven't listened to him, you should. One of the truly unique geniuses.

I know Prine was highly respected for his songwriting but I’ve never heard one single song of his.   Where’s a good place to start?

At the beginning. John Prine 1971. Illegal Smile.

Very, very good, thank you DT........Yes I can see why you like Johns music. You know I can hear a little resemblance to Aussie Country Music.

His songs are terrific but more than that his heart was pure. I've seen him three times and judging from that and his videos, he was just a very likable and quite lovable fellow. Witty and warm. Funny and cherubic. I already miss him terribly and we never met.

If you haven't check out his latest album from a year ago or so, I highly recommend. "Tree Of Forgiveness"  It's great. He was like family to everyone.  I guess this little cartoon video he did is how he wanted us to remember him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0EiV423j0M&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR1N_BDRehWfBjDmJC12OvdAUHewOGJKO2lUiXCzn3fLkULa2krbmjOX4bU
