It's the thread about nothing, like Seinfeld would like.  We sure have a lot to say about nothing.  And right up until I hit "post', GA-ME was about to win the contest.  But maybe the contest should be who can shut down this thread the longest before someone resurrects it.  Because someone always does.  If we measure thread-ending by that method, then we already have a winner embedded in these pages.

I am a thread ender or maybe many of my threads start and end with me. This is the one I can't seem to kill.

Glad you're smiling, my friend.  I wish I could stay in the moment, because my work week was rather awful...and it's haunting my weekend.  I know better, but I can't do  better as far as shaking it.  Time.

Who else has been doing any shooting lately (to change up the topic a little)?

Recently got a Springfield Armory Hellcat, and got my wife a Ruger LCP II LR (her Mother's Day gift this year!) ... added those to an old Heritage Rough Rider plinker that my brother gave me years ago.

Trying to go as much as possible while it's still summer (the only shooting range close to here is outdoors). My wife needs to get some more time in with hers, too. We're hoping to take a concealed carry class in September...

Love the Hellcat! Joe Biden bought us two pistols and a bunch of ammo. A very similar Ruger 9mm and a Chiappa .22 1911. Hope to be able to shoot them soon. Thanks Joe.

Makes you wonder about the kind of woman that would marry a bass player.    whistling

Holy cow… how can you even afford to shoot these days?!  I can’t find ammo at all any more! Definitely not going to the range until I can actually replace what I use!

That's why I went with the .22. You can find ammo online fairly readily, however.

I've been able to find some 9mm ammo at https://www.targetsportsusa.com. (BTW - no affiliation, I'm just a satisfied customer.) Lately they've been able to get stuff in. Not cheap (around .50/round for the 9mm practice stuff - but that's back down from around a buck per round not that long ago!). A box with 50 rounds of 9mm practice and 50 rounds of hollow point was around $82.00. I currently have plenty of .22 LR, and can usually get some of that locally (as duck alluded to).

Yeah, in two trips to the range, I've shot off well over $150 worth of ammo. But I need the practice and need to get familiar with these particular pistols.

ammoseek.com.
Nice thing about ammoseek is that it's actually a search engine that will point you to a retailer that has what you're looking for in stock.

It's been a strange trip watching the ammo supply go thru these gyrations. I've been able to pick and choose some deals but I'm still barely comfortable even plinking .22's.
