"Against the Flow" by John Lennox. A study of the biblical book of Daniel from a perspective of being an stranger in a foreign culture. Faithfulness, tolerance, and civil disobedience when necessary. A very provoking read.

The Undoing Project” by Michael Lewis (who sadly has been in the news recently for a family tragedy), author of “The Big Short” and “Moneyball”.
This book focuses on the research of Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky.
Attempts to answer the question, Why do we think these things we think?

Lennox is one brilliant dude.  I’ve heard several of his lectures and some of his debates.

I saw him in person once and was impressed by his intellect and his kind demeanor.  His niece is the well-known Kristyn Getty.  It was at the SING 2019 conference I heard him speak.

I've been reading a lot of Longfellow's poetry.

I'm also about to undertake a read-through of the Bible as a work of literature and not as devotional reading.

I'm reading The God Equation [The Quest for the Theory of Everything]
by Michio Kaku.
String theory, in a nutshell.
Essentially, it is the search for the synthesis of the two paramount, yet conflicting theories in modern physics; relativity and quantum mechanics.
String theory is rather controversial and at odds with much of my recent reading.

I didn't know that! Interesting connection/relationship. Small world (especially across the pond)!

I just read William Buck’s version of Ramayana. Had the pleasure of a several hour online discussion/breakdown of the epic with scholar and really cool guy Douglas Brooks.

I've gotta check and see if I've watched Season 7 - can't remember.

They don't make these fast enough - really enjoy TW as Bosch (and all the other characters are well cast, too).

It just came out so unless you watched it in the last week, you have something to look forward to.

Haven't seen it then. Don't know if it's avalaible yet on Amazon Prime...

...I'm thinking of the season where a bomb almost explodes in the courtroom (while Bosch's daughter Maddie is in there)...

I believe that's the end of season 6. The new season is available on Prime as of last week.

Watch “A Life On Our Planet” by David Attenborough and “My Octopus Teacher” by Craig Foster on Netflix.

Three of the best hours of my life this summer and a great use of my time.

“My Octopus Teacher” was definitely a good watch. I’ll second that one.
