I think you may be pleasantly surprised to find the neck will be satin, no matter the body finish.
At least, in my humble experience, glossy Larrivees have satin necks. No promises, though.

Actually, Larrivee has gone back and forth between gloss and satin necks on their 05/09 and up series guitars. I'm not sure which they're currently using.

Meanwhile, in response to a difference in tone between satin and gloss, I do hear a difference, at least on the samples I've had in the past 5-7 years. To my ears, gloss Larrivees have a more defined, "harder" tone to the notes (esp. on the wound strings); satin Larrivees have a softer, less defined tone - not as articulate. I do prefer the tone of the gloss ones. However, maybe over time the satin models tone may mature to become more articulate; I'll have to wait a few years to let you know!

If this guitar does show up with a gloss finish, it will be interesting for me. I really love the natural look of the satin, and the gloss looks almost too glass-like so I never gave them a good try even though my local shop carries them. I think I will be happy either way.  I'm looking forward to posting some NGD pics, because this forum hasn't had any in a while.

To my ears, the gloss finish has a more syrupy tone. My satin finish models with same wood sound more open initially, at least. My OM05 has a gloss neck.
