Here is a pretty good site to look at medal standings. http://www.cbc.ca/olympics/medals/index.shtml?totals

The coverage may be a little slanted towards Canada, eh.

I don't see lounge surfing in the list of events anywhere?

Looks like the Canuk's are starting to hit their stride. :GRN>

USA got gold in border cross!  The olympics are actually pretty fun to watch if you love sports.  Plus, there's a lot of nestalgia watching the olympics for some reason. Do you guys feel the same?  Watching the olympics is like having a warm blanket on a cold night.

I must admit, I am not a TV sports fan, at all. I do like to hear the updates of the Olympics on CBC Radio, at :50 every hour.

I met some friends last night at a local watering hole. The entire place was cheering in unison for the USA curling team! I am not sure anyone really understands the rules or how the scoring is done, but we were all having fun. Only the Olympice can do that.

Curling is not real big here in Mass, but I'll bet there are lots of Canadian members who could explain the rules to us.

More than anyone really needs to know about (aboot) curling.  http://www.curlingbasics.com/

Even though I am a proud Canadian, I have never curled; never trapped a beaver; never swam in the Arctic Ocean; and never snow shoed across the Rockies.

I gotta get out more...

Thanks for the info Ron...I guess I understand it now, I just don't "get it" :UND>

curling looks about as fun as a board game...but an olympic sport?

curling origonated as a deviant form of hockey..

Team A would surround and grab a player from Team B after he scored a goal, skate down the ice with him, and throw him at the opposition team as they poured out of the team box.

It was decided this wasn't gentlemanly conduct and rules were written to use inanimate objects instead.

I am having a problem with the hats they are making the Canadian athletes wear. They are representing our country and now the whole world thinks we run around wearing goofy hatsthat look like we should be hearding reindeer. geeze.

The Japanese think all we eat is maple syrop.

the only thing my students wanna talk about is the fact that Japan beat Canada in women`s curling. Nevermind we have 20 medals eh.

Can't describe how proud I am of the our women's speed skaters!   They ROCK!  They need to go have a chat with our men's hockey team. I have a feeling that Vancouver is the last time we'll see NHLers in the olympics.  The owners really don't care for sending away their stars to get banged up.

Don't just practice -  practice  RIGHT!

Clara Hughes was awesome last night.  Man, that looks painful.  (As did today's cross-country marathon, or whatever it's called.)

I've never curled either, but my girlfriend's family are all really avid curlers.  They even do summer curling.  She herself went to Nagano in '98, because she used to be involved with one of the guys on the Canadian team that won either silver or bronze there.

(Her parents keep wondering when I'm going to come out for some curling, but I spend enough time at work that I'm pretty selfish about my downtime; it's for guitar playing and reading, in that order.)

If you want a painless lesson in curling, rent the movie Men With Brooms, with Paul Gross.  It's not great, but it's pretty funny at times.

I felt bad for the Finns today.  A silver medal is nothing to sneeze at, but I suspect there was no joy in Helsinki tonight.
