Looking for a unicorn….OOV…

I just realized that there was such a thing as an OOV and I want one.  I know they're super rare, but if anyone has one, they should be able to see this post :)

I don't blame you! To my ear the OO's are perfect and the OOV is one heck of a handsome looking shape. Not to taunt you, but "from my cold dead hands" sorry . . .

Mine is one of the LA Guitar's special orders of about a decade ago, so there are about 20-30 specials out there as LA did about 3 of those order. During the time I was looking I'd be lucky to see one pop up once a year. You might have more luck posting on AFG as well.

I was so used to the parlor size, even the OOV was bigger than I liked and the scale too long.  It was a GREAT guitar, just not THE guitar.  I forget who bought it.

Here's my special order OOV-03 MT SB.  It was all hog, satin, standard scale. Sold off more than 5 years ago, I think.

I really loved the look of it, but never could warm up to it's all mahogany tone.

@jpmist - I know you're one of the lucky ones who owns one! I'm envious...

Ideally, I'd find an OOV-60 (not sure if the 60 series has the scalloped bracing though). But I think I may need to custom order.... It'd be an OOV-60 with moonspruce and -40 series bracing. Plus a nice inlay on the 12th fret :)

Think we've chatted before, but I forgot which one I was selling back then. I don't think I've even seen more than 4 or 5 60's or 50's and certainly not cutaway so custom order may be in your future. I don't envy you on the selection process, the price or the wait, but once all that gets squared away, you're gonna be a happy camper with the final result.

Is that "OOOV-60" a typo? If so have you considered a C-03R-TE,  Tommy Emmanuel? Very close to the OOO in size . . .

If not an OOV-60 with moonspruce sounds pretty sweet! My OO-05 has Italian Spruce which I think is the same.

Yep, I bought your OO-03 close to a year ago. :)

There was a typo I corrected, I want an OOV-60.

And, yes, it will be a long process. I may need to buy one while I wait :)
