I have a Breedlove Revival DM for trade (or sale).  This is a mahogany body dreadnought with sitka spruce top and mahogany neck. The finish is semi-gloss. I prefer 1-11/16 inch nuts and this is 1-3/4" so that's why I am looking to trade.

I don't have anything particular in mind. My other guitars are a Martin D28 and a Martin 000-18, so I don't want to duplicate them. I am open to any non-Fender electric as well.

Hi, Jim --

Just what is the significance of the "proto-" designation?  Are there any features that a current model of the Revival DM would or would not have?

Thanks,
DDD

I called Breedlove and asked. They told me that the Proto designation typically means they were pre-production line guitars made for the NAMM show or for some kind of dealer function. They are the same materials and specs as the production guitars, though they may be made outside of the normal production run. The person I talked to at Breedlove told me he could look up the serial number and find out more about that particular model.
