This song is attributed to Dale Evans, wife of Roy Rogers.
I just discovered this old video of me playing this tune on an Eastman archtop guitar.
Thanks for sharing a well played tune Queequeg. The only thing missing was your cowboy hat.
That video and tune took me back in time to my early youth on Saturday morning TV with Roy and Dale, Trigger and Bullet, his sidekick Pat Brady and his jeep Nellybelle. (Look it up kids).
On a side note about Saturday morning TV, I also remember that both Roy (and the Lone Ranger) never (or rarely) lost their hats during a fight scene with the bad guys.

Thanks, teh.
I guess we must be about the same age.
My brother and I used to watch that TV show all the time. And the Lone Ranger, also Sgt Preston of the Yukon, too.
I posted this video in black-and-white, in accordance with that bygone era.
I'm always telling myself I don't need an archtop. Then, I see cool stuff like this and I start getting that itch.

Right. When I rediscovered this old video I was immediately struck by the unmistakably warm sound of an archtop again. And this was just an entry level instrument.
Made me (briefly) wish I still had it.
Nice picking. Some Chet-esque tone there for sure.
Love that stuff, everyone needs an archtop.
Very nice!!
