The nice folks at Metz Music just posted a video review of this special run. I haven't seen any other reviews but I hope this isn't the last time they use this wood combo. If I hadn't just bought the d-40r I would probably want this one.

Thanks for sharing that!! I always have concerns when I hear cedar + dread because I've heard some that were really murky sounding. The video confirms that's certainly not an issue with these new Larrivees. That's a very clear and tight sounding instrument, and the cedar seems to be adding a lot of complexitys. Listen to that sparkly fingerstyle part. What a beautiful sound.
To your point, I wonder if that's why they chose the 03 series instead of the traditional braced series for these limiteds, to keep the sound warm but clear and less muddy. I played a very nice cedar walnut lowden that sounded warm and full but would describe the flavor as a muted dark tone.
