Hey Everyone! I just purchased my first Larrivee on Saturday. I put it head to head against some of the most prestigious (and expensive) U.S. guitar builders and was so impressed by the tone I had to have it. I don't have a very strong knowledge of Larrivee, so I just assumed all of the more expensive guitars were signed. When I went home and started researching, it seems that's not the case.
So, my question is: When/what guitars are signed by Jean?

Also, I heard you folks like donuts?

I dunno, but thanks for asking as well as the donuts. I'm curious to hear an answer myself.
I have 4 Larrivee's but the only one signed is a Wildwood Custom order. An LA Guitars special factory run of 10 wasn't.
:nice guitar:
Seems to be completely at Larrivee's discretion: special runs, custom runs, certain high end models (or even an 03 Series run with different woods or trim).
I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it other than it was a non-normal run and Larrivee decided to have Jean sign 'em.
Thanks for the :donut :donut2 :donut :donut2

Can't answer about the signed labels, but I do have an L-03 Custom shop Flamed Maple with a signed label and have wondered the same, I can't find *any* info on mine.

He only signs the guitars he signs - absolutely no rhyme nor reason to it.

:+1:
Depends who signed them.
Congrats on the SD! They're my favorite of the Larrivees.
I've had a couple Larrivees signed and they were actually a couple of the cheapest I owned. So, it's not just based in price. I think maybe certain dealers might request it? Really not sure.
Well, I guess it looks like maybe someone at Larrivee thought this guitar was as special as I did! Thanks for all the information!
This one was signed by Jean Larrivée in '75 although when I contacted Linda Manzer, she claimed to have built it. Qui sais?

My '79 L-19 is also signed by Jean...but I'd also like to think that Linda Manzer, David Wren, Grit Laskin, Wendy Larrivee and a few others had their hands on it when it went through the shop...

No doubt. I ran into a fellow with a '76 Manzer and noticed a very distinct likeness. Maybe not unusual considering where she learned the craft. I emailed Manzer and asked her about the guitar and she sent a very brief reply telling me that she was in a rush due to getting ready for a flight but that she had built this guitar. The way she said it though had me wondering if she was being facetious. After all, it's a signed Larrivée. :?
This old Larrivee is almost 50.
back in the Toronto days EVERY guitar that came from the shop was signed by Jean.

I have an OMV 9 Maple back/sides that has Mr Larrivee's signature....The signature is nice but the sound is what matters and this guitar is amazing.
