I'm going to be in the Denver area next week. Any body have a recommendation for live acoustic music venues Tuesday or Wednesday night?

Hi Jimmy, go to Google and type in +denver +live +acoustic.  Always works for me....

Might also need -"john denver"  (not John Denver)

Hey Jimmy,
What will you be in town for?
Denver is a cool city with lots to do.  The best venue for pure acuostic music is Swallow Hill.  They really support the folk, blues, roots and bring in a lot of amazing shows.  If you end up being here on Thursday, Justin Roth is playing, who I hear is very good.

I have been out of the loop for the last 2 years since my son was born but you can get a list of all the local concerts / open mikes and just about anything else going on in town from the westword.

We also have a few very nice guitar shops.  The Old Town Pickin Parlor has a great selection and is a very cool shop.  Look at the events link on there website.  Looks like they have something going Tuesday night that might be fun.  http://www.picknparlor.com/Home.htm

My favorite shop is the Denver Folk Lore Center.  Much smaller selection of guitars, but they have a lot of books and CDs.  When you walk into that shop you just feel like one of the guys.  They have a song circle on mondays.  http://www.denverfolklore.com/index.htm

Enjoy your trip to Denver.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks josh, lots of good info on the sites you mentioned. I'm going to be in Aurora attending a work related conference. No music there :EM>. If I'm lucky I'll have a bit of time to get out for one evening.

I would say the Pickin Parlor would be your best bet.  It will be a drive, but it is easy to get to, you will hear good music, likely will meet some cool people and it really is a nice shop.

While Aurora doesn't have much to offer in terms of music, yhey do have some great food.  If you like something a little different check out the ethiopian or korean restaurants.
